Also, Erin, if you wake up with your hair on a keyboard you don't remember going to bed with, that is a good time to upgrade to a new computer... without Origin...

Wait, what? As in, region blocking PC GAMES? Why? Region blocking is being less and less used these days (I just imported the U.S. version of Catherine for my PAL PS3). Can you give us a link or something?Vrach said:You know what's the actual hilarity of it? So if you move to a region blocked area, it's actually not there and doesn't live where you do.

Can't give you a link, but was told to me last night by an EA customer service rep. I was looking into whether it was possible to get The Old Republic in Serbia via Origin by having a friend from UK buy it for me and pass me the account info. Apparently, Origin'd just IP block my arse >.>RikuoAmero said:Wait, what? As in, region blocking PC GAMES? Why? Game's not region blocked, but Origin itself is apparently.winter2 said:Huh? Can't he just gift it?? Or are you saying that The Old Republic is region blocked in Serbia??? EA??? I'd say it's a ferret.loodmoney said:...is that a meerkat wearing headphones? Man this web-comic is trendy as heck.
Oh good. Glad I'm not the only one that thought so.vxicepickxv said:Why does Origin remind me of Aigis from Persona 3?

Seems to be what their counting on. I, for one, will not be partaking in Origin just for BF3/ME3.Tharwen said:But the annoying thing is that they do...Irridium said:Origin offers nothing interesting compared to Steam, gives no good reason to install
They hold the Battlefield and Mass Effect series to ransom, and I have to use their pointless online service if I ever want to see them again.
I totally agree with you on that iv'e always loved the deals steam does and nearly all my non games are even added to Steam just because it's a really good service but Origin on the other hand has nothing of any value to even offer me in order to make me want to switch over and with the increased prices of EA's games on their system it just pushes me further away from them not to mention most of EA services have had a really bad history especially when you mentioned not giving two shits which is totally true.Irridium said:Steam needs a competitor. A competitor that treats customers well, offer what Steam does not(or offer what Steam offers, but better), be unobtrusive, and give good reasons to add yet another program to your PC. It also needs goodwill and trust.
EA is not the one who's up to the challenge for that. They have a history of not giving two craps about their customers, Origin offers nothing interesting compared to Steam, gives no good reason to install, and as far as goodwill and trust go, well I don't think I need to explain that.
There's also the fact that their prices are more expensive then Steam in certain areas of the world. Particularly Europe. And their sales are just laughable.
Yeah, EA will not be the one to "challenge" Steam.
'Tis a ferret and his name is DJ StinkyBeats known for throwing down some of the dirtiest mixes in the industrial trip hop/ trancecore scene. (<= fabrications)Bogwhiskers said:I'd say it's a ferret.loodmoney said:...is that a meerkat wearing headphones? Man this web-comic is trendy as heck.
