Seriously lole'd.

Should have known there are women that stupid. "hot steam"... Jesus Christ, the only time there's supposed to be steam affecting your computer is when you've succesfully installed it.

Guy got too greedy though... had a good thing going on if he managed to cap that many images, idiot. How young was the girl anyway?

Some people might think its good to think with your dick but he's also a pedophile by the sounds of it (unless the young girl was over the age of 15...)

Also why does the Escapist use that picture of the man and woman holding each other sexually on so many articles? It seems like such a cheap way of getting views...
Well you clicked it didn't you?

wow...I mean, you'd think he'd just try to get lucky with a girl doing whatever while the laptops are opened up in their room but no he had to go the extra step with the error message...which strangely worked despite being oddly specific =.=

Being a Computer technician changes you -- after you having to save everyone?s F**ked up porn from their broken down HDD's -.-

and yes they ask you to save it, some ppl.

any who - I've worked around a lot of technicians and I know that some of them will snoop around for dirty pics on their clients PC's - so beware.

I'm pretty certain everyone in this thread calling the victims stupid would be singing a different tune if the story was about an auto mechanic who overcharged people by telling them their left cylinder was misfiring or some shit. The only reason you're saying "these idiots!" is because you know enough about the subject that it seems obvious. You can say "oh, they should've known", and maybe that's true, but - and this is key - blaming the victims of exploitation for the exploitation always makes you a shithead.
Thank you so hard this. Seriously, I'm facepalming so hard at this thread.
Actually, I would blame myself for not knowing better, and that is the whole point.

Of course the bastard is at fault the most, if not completely, but at this day and age, where information is readily available for FREE, you should know better than to not equip yourself with the necessary knowledge to at least not fall into traps like these.

I'm not blaming these girls for becoming victims, but I do think that it's one's own responsibility to gain at least rudimentary knowledge of the thing you're using. Not being quick-minded enough to think that there's something wrong about the whole thing is just... stupid, especially since there should've been three warning bells going off in their heads.

I know several people who are completely computer-illiterate, but even they know better than to drop a laptop, put it near water, or leave it overcharging. Because they know that laptops are somewhat like bulkier cellphones, and I'm sure everyone uses handphones.

And this might be true, if it weren't for the fact that *the computer itself said to do that.* For people who are unfamiliar, and who HAVE sought help before, when the computer seems to offer a solution to the problem, why look for anything else? It's not a stretch to think what's obvious TO YOU isn't to other people.

Sounds like an urban legend to me. The site is amateurish, the idea is ludicrous and the information is relatively vague at best.

that's almost as ironic as that story a year ago where a woman left naked photos of herself on desktop and then sued the guy for peeping into them. Seriously how stupid some people are. How would you come up with an idea of showing in front of your camera that is on (most cameras show that its on unless the guy totally rewrote the webcam software, which i doubt)

What a pervert.
And a stupid one too.
Did he not know there were already millions of dirty photos already on the internet?

See, this is why I don't trust Webcams. Sure the little recording light may be off, but that doesn't mean no one is watching...

Imagine what would happen if a woman took a laptop in for repair but it was a man who got the error message.

Why do all pervs and criminals always look so creepy? (Sorry, Icyneesan! (^_^) Why can't there be a good looking pervert?
Cause good looking perverts, are out there having sex, with no reason to do something like this.

People getting taken advantage of for being stupid.

I blame both parties equally.
Right. Because blaming the victims of a pervert is a perfectly logical conclusion to make.

(rolls eyes)
If you're dumb enough to believe that showering in the vicinity of your laptop will in any way shape or form repair problems with an "internal sensor" then (A) You shouldn't be using a computer at all, and (B) You lose a great deal of my sympathy for you when things like this happen.

So yeah, I'd say that blaming these people for what their stupidity allowed to happen is a perfectly logical conclusion to make.
That's because you don't understand the following things:

- Logic

Given the level of intellect you're displaying, you're going to jump to the following conclusion:

- It's okay to not understand how computers work

The following things apply to you:

- Laughable

lol wut? Why on earth would you take your computer into the bathroom....

What he did was still wrong, but honestly at some point you need to reexamine your own behavior.

Do you walk into the street full of moving cars because the drivers should stop? If they dont, yeah they broke the law, but YOU STILL GOT HIT BY A CAR. Honestly now.

Not sure if anyone's said this yet, but this incident sounds like it would make for a good porno...
In 240p, and with crappy sound.
And with that steam fogging up the camera...
You'll have to fill in the blanks in your imagination.
I meant the premise would make a good "plot" for a porno, not whatever footage the actual guy gleamed from duping women. Tech guy secretly records hot women through their laptops, even a bad porn studio could have a field day with that...
I understood what you meant, it's just that I don't think the premise is entirely - if you'll excuse the pun - watertight.

I can understand some people trusting a message pop out on their computer
but the question I can't answer is How the hell it all ended to choose the wierdest possible solution
A) Bring it in your bathroom
B) Place it so that the screen face your shower
C) Exactly shower at the same time

I mean with all the other possibility and easier one. how much really did that? how is 1000 picture even possible?

I mean you could always
A) use a water boiler and put your laptop above it
B) Even if you bringed it to the bathroom, open the shower without you being in it
C) The laptop being not placed or opened at all, closed lid, closed computer etc...

with all that I can't understand how he may even took more than 2 person ankle's picture or some random lucky shot of their middle part if the computer was place waist high.

All that trouble just to get the little softcore picture? I could get more aroused by looking at the victoria's secret catalogue

he probably did this to a lot of women and only got the shower scene results he wanted with a few, and mainly boiled kettles with the rest.

This is why I don't use computers.

You may ask how I'm posting this, and from what, or where?

Well the answer is simple, it is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition. And, it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.
Can I buy some pot off you.
