I was talking with my brother about which companies have the best IPs to make a game featuring only their own characters, but I'm curious what other people think as well.

Personally I think Atlus could make a great one (or several), as they have an extensive catalogue of their own characters and they're allowed to use Sega's dormant IPs too. Their list of available characters is a little intimidating to pick from though.

So, what companies have the best selection of characters to throw into one game? Which characters do you want to see in one game together? It can be any kind of game, it doesn't have to make sense and the characters don't have to be iconic.

I don't really want to impose limitations so if you think more than one company should toss their properties in the mix feel free to list those ideas too.

Capcom vs SNK3 would be one of my top choices purely because CVS2 was so amazing but they are two different companies obviously.

I do think a Capcom fighter featuring characters from many of their iconic series could work but they did mess up the last one apparently (never played it).

There are not many crossover games I am that interested in to be fair its just pretty much CVS3 all the way for me.

I'd like to see Sega vs. Capcom. I would totally preorder it. And hopefully with the Sonic/Mega Man comic crossover, it's not too unlikely.

I'd love for there to be a Devil May Cry/Bayonetta crossover game just to see how over the top they could make it.

I'd give that a try as long as it's old-school DMC, not the new chav version.

AKA the first game, just entirely made up of the Venom henchmen fights?

I wouldn't mind a hitman crossover with Assassins Creed.

Yes I would love for Platinum to be able to get the rights back to Devil May cry finally the series would be back in the hands of those who created it for the most part and we could get a true DMC sequel instead of the rubbish that came after the first one (ok 3 was passable). But yeah Bayonetta and Dante together would be amazing although im not sure how Dante would compete tbh as they raised the bar again with Bayonetta just as they did with the original DMC but im sure Platinum would find a way.

Star Trek vs. Star Wars
What I wouldn't give to be able to participate in an epic battle between Storm Troopers (firing in any direction but at the enemy) and Red Shirts (failing to survive, despite never actually getting shot)

You know, I just have to keep posting this until people realize how good of a game it was, and how much of a travesty it was that this game did not have a sequel.

Capcom and Namco teamed up to make this game. Tekken characters were unlockable (Paul and Law). There's been no brawler in the history of brawlers that has surpassed this one. If you say God Fist or any other game, then you clearly haven't played Urban Reign. Actually... Arkham City, Bayonetta, and possibly Devil May Cry come close, but those aren't specifically brawlers.

The fight engine on this game is so ridiculously good, you'll want to try almost every character. I really don't understand why this game just fell out of existence. Everyone who is into fighting or brawling should own it.
Urban Reign.

Marvel vs DC (made by Capcom)
Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter (made by Capcom)
Marvel vs Hannah-Barbera (made by Capcom)
Age of Amalgam (the Marvel vs DC sequel or, just Marvel vs DC)

Bayonetta and Devil May Cry could be a cool concept...
Star Fox + Metroid

I can't really think of any others at the moment...I'm pissed by the Rosalina SSB reveal but only because the reveal starts off with Kirby racing around Rainbow Road...Kirby in Mario Kart 8 would have been awesome dammit! I feel like I'm the only person who's mad about this!

Since Nintendo are feeling generous with the Link IP at the moment, I say give the next Luigi's Mansion to the guys who made Outlast.

Failing that, go for a gritty "realistic" ripped from the headlines CoD/BF story, except your elite group of soldiers are a squad of crack delta force Pokemon. Maybe make the villain a Digimon?

Lastly, Dota 2 vs League of Legends crossover. Each side only takes heroes from one of the specific games. Just too see what would happen when the two communities collide. We may even reach levels of toxicity that would require an actual server quarantine.

Adrian Shephard from Half-Life: Opposing Force and Chell from Portal in a co-op shooter together. It'll be a great successor to Half-Life Decay.
