Crying in Movies (ft. Emotions)

This. Even though it's a mini-series, rather than a movie. If you don't cry at some point during episode nine, you're a cold heartless bastard. Man's inhumanity to man portrayed horrifically realistically.

Green Mile, Requim For a Dream, Bucket List, Gran Torino, Grave of the Fireflies, From Hell, Once Upon a Time in America, Oldboy, Donnie Darko, all The Godfather movies, Schindler's List.

The end of Forrest Gump always chokes me up. Or One flew over the cuckoos nest, again, the end bit.

Hmm...
It doesn't happen often. Toy Story 3, quite unexpectedly, even though I'd been warned. Not full on blubbing, but was driven to tears enough to have to take off the glasses and dry my eyes. Maybe they played a brown note.

Maybe, maybe not at Grave of the Fireflies. It's certainly not a movie I'll be replaying any time soon other than as part of a history lesson, to find out.

Possibly at the end of On Her Majesty's Secret Service too. That was just cruel. Otherwise, not often. It's more generally particular pieces of music that pluck the heartstrings... especially if I make the mistake of trying to sing along.

Oh yeah and when Prime kicked the bucket in the '85 film.

(T2 just gave me recurrent nightmares, first time round, at about age 9)

Surprised I haven't seen "Green Street Hooligans" posted yet. One of my favorite films ever, and the ending kills me every time. "Toy Story 3" crushed my soul a little...

I have to say that no movie has ever made me cry, a few books have and even some games but not a movie.
There are movies that make me sad but thats less to do with the movie and more to do with memories attached to certain movies.

I won't lie, Schindlers List got me. Right at the end when the war is concluded, I broke and shed a couple of tears.

I got pretty choked up at the end of Saving Private Ryan....damn that was sad. Usually I am a pretty sunny though sarcastic person.

I've never cried during a movie. Toy Story 3 and The Road got me oh so close though.

I cry a lot on movies, I easily "connect" with the story/situation.

But on I Am Legend... I choked. I couldn't stop crying the whole movie. I swear I was so so moved that the impression and me getting wet eyes every time I think of it lasted for more than three weeks. :|

OH MY GOD, YES. I'm the exact same as well, btw.

Other movies that consistently make me cry: Eagle Eye, Saving Private Ryan, Avatar, The Notebook, Paint it Saffron. There are tonnnes more, but I can't think of specific ones

Toy Story 3 got me the closest to crying that any movie has done in a very, very long time (or perhaps even ever). In hindsight, I probably would have cried if I had been watching it by myself. I think because my friends and I are the same age as Andy, and going through the exact same phase (going off to college/university) it meant a bit more to us, like saying goodbye to our own childhoods. Talk about audience empathy. Good stuff.

Dumbo, Casper, The Last Unicorn, Fox and the Hound, and Titanic but only because of the associations I have with it and not so much the film itself.

Those are the most notable ones for me, but in the proper mood I'll cry at most animated films.

ooo 7 pounds yeah that one got me too..pissed me off cause the people that rented it told us it was a comedy >.< obvious failure in research there..
