Hell Crysis 2 will likely look just as good, if not possibly better on DX10 than Crysis 1 did.ph0b0s123 said:Well that is obviously bull as the new game will be DirectX 11 and the old game was DirectX 10. So I would have to upgrade my perfectly good for playing Crysis / Warhead rig as it is still DirectX 10. But I get what they kind of meant that it should not be the machine melting game that the first was.ActionDan said:Crytek said that this game will actually use lower system requirements than the First, but will have better graphics. I would love to see how this works, if it works at all.
Haven't they already stated that Crysis 2 will have lower system requirements than 1?
Yes, I do.
"Haven't they already stated that Crysis 2 will have lower system requirements than 1?"
Look as I said in my original post. I know where they are coming from, they are trying to make the game playable across more of the spectrum of PC's that people own. So you are more likely to be able to play this on say a laptop, unlike the fist game. I get this.
But the statement above is crap since this will not happen across the board. The minimum requirements may be less, but the recommended ones will go up I am sure a DirectX 11 will be on there. So as I said before a machine that could play Crysis 1 fully will need to be upgrade to play Crysis 2 fully. So the statement does not mean much to those people.
Don't get me wrong I fully support this. If they only kept it a DirectX10 I would have been pissed. But what will annoy me even more is that after making this song and dance that in Directx 11 mode they make it that even the fastest PC's on the market cannot play it fully. Say, by turning tessellation up to a ridiculous level, etc. That will make me very mad.
