Whatever, just wash your hands.
off all the stuff you can charge for map packs are the stupidest ones, I mean unless your player base is stupid big you risk either having not many people buy them and the ones that do end up pissed since they can never find a game or you split the player base and make it harder all around to find games

its one thing if you do a whole mini expansion like the bad company 2 Vietnam thing but for the most part map packs are retarded and I hate cod for introducing many studios to the stupid amount of money it made on its

Get rid of Cloak and I'll buy it. Till then, never touching the multiplayer again.
Sorry but... get rid of one of the things that differentiated it the most? The cloak adds some good tension, and forces people to think about some resource management.
I think we're always gonna have different taste in online shooters Woodsey... to me the cloak just caters to a playstyle that I hate... hiding in a corner and ambushing people.

I much prefer shooters where you rush around like a headless chicken and win your fights through pure gun skill rather than using certain resources at certain times. (i.e. I'm just a huge COD4 fanboy)
Would be better if they used the Nanosuit as an excuse to create sweet game-modes. Like a Predator-type gamemode, where the Predator has all abilities active, and he has to kill everyone else.

Just, you know, something different instead of "standard death-match with cloaking and jumping high".

Though $10 for 4 maps ain't bad. Call of Duty map packs are more per map, even when you count the Zombies maps.
Still more than Valve's ever charged for their TF2 maps - hard to get cheaper or better value than 'free'.
Well, good for them. Now go back to your PC fanboy cave.
"OMG SOMEONE SAID VALVE - must be a fanboy, spouting all their bullshit and not listening to what other people are saying and being all obnoxious and aggressive and offensive"
...

Wait, what? Did someone roll out of the wrong side of bed this morning, hmm? Or are we just a little bit defensive about being asked to pay extortionate prices for stuff that has traditionally been free and community sourced on a platform that you don't normally use? I think someone might be compensating just a little bit...
I do use my PC more than I do my Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii combined.

I don't bring up that TF2 (or any other game) has free maps whenever a discussion about map packs is brought up.

Though I still wonder why the fuck they would need anything but 2Fort...
Well, why not? You brought up pricing, saying that it was favourable compared to CoD, and when I extended the comparison to a wider field of free map expansions you rag on me as a 'fanboy'? I don't get where that came from - I made a perfectly valid point and you kick off.

Sticking to my guns: with even a semblance of a community they wouldn't need to release packs as there would be a wealth of maps available catering to all interests. Of course, with a community, they wouldn't be ABLE to charge extortionate monies for what basically amount to the barest of multiplayer expansions. You can buy complete GAMES for $10, never mind 4 maps.

Yeah, the potential for the mechanics is impressive and they just made some generic deathmatch modes out of it. Nice one there, guys X/

I think so. As it stands, it's a slower version of COD.

Alright, fanboy was the wrong word. Still, most people who buy paid map packs are on consoles, and the only console game with the tools to make new maps is Halo with it's Forge mode, and that is incredibly limited in comparison with PC toolsets (or so I would assume, as I have no experience with them).
Yeah, this is fact. But that the PC doesn't have dev tools for it when the first was mod-able enough to have a pretty sweet Mechwarrior game made in it is a major disappointment, and evidence of a knock-on effect from the console market having a negative impact on the PC market. Anyone with the right tools and time can make themselves a map, and the devs/publishers are well aware of that. it's only since the advent of this generation of consoles that they've been able to establish a precedent for charging for this sort of content, simultaneously crippling the PC modding community as they are force to not release dev tools in order to keep up demand for new maps.

It's not a trend I will turn a blind eye to.
