You could do it in the prince of persia 2 style and have you running from cthulu the whole time. Honestly, that would be kind of cool, especially if your character slowly slipped into insanity through hallucinations.magicmonkeybars said:only if the entire game was one giant boss fight against Cthulu and you always loose.iggyus said:Do you think its possible to make a game in which Cthulu would make and appearance and/or would even be killable?

He's a mile tall. We average 6 feet.
He has wings. We have plains and trains and automobiles.
He has a tentacle face. We have chins.
I think Cthulhu wins.

COC was great sure it was buggy but take a game like a cross between BIOSHOCK and Undying only a bit more stealth evolved, with a maze/key find layout setup(like doom or metroid), use the mental break down a bit differently when you near 80% on the mental gauge left/right or forward/barckward movement is reversed at 90% you might eat your gun if you see the gun moving word your head you have to use the mouse to force it away, then offer 2 play modes to apse the masses 1 is a simplified mental break down script that starts up around 90% and is easy enough to deal with the other one messes with your controls and you have to fight to keep from killing youerself.Vern said:I think it could work as just an appearance, but you shouldn't be able to actually kill him. I'd love to see another Cthulhu mythos game made by the same folks who made Dark Corners of the Earth. Too bad that's never going to happen, as it was a great game. Fundamentally all the gameplay mechanics are pretty sound, and it's atmosphere is amazing, it's a shame the PC version was so buggy. Really I could only see Cthulhu working if he appeared briefly right at the end and caused you to go insane and kill yourself. Either shooting yourself, jumping off a cliff into the ocean, or what have you. I can imagine it being very impressive, especially if done with the same insanity effects of Dark Corners of the Earth. But you don't kill Cthulhu, period.

What part of a being that can literally not die do you people not understad, the sheer force of his being would destroy all of you pitiful mechanical contraptions. Also people would have to see him in order to give the Machines the order to attack. Also there's nothing that says AI can't go crazy, have you ever heard of Clinicaly depressed robot syndrom. In short humanity we loose get off earth now and we might have a chance. w00t 2020 lunar colonies.Doug said:Bah, I say, bah! Maybe, but it just seems like it's an inbuilt game breaker. Honestly, it's Chthulu. It'd be basically like God Mode times by the area of the universe. Cubed. Added to the hyperplane (yes, I did make an Ian Irvine reference there, please don't judge me...).popdafoo said:Cthulu being killable? HELL NO.
