Pulp Fiction could be classed as a cult film. Seeing as every one I know has heard of it.

EDIT: Dang. Got ninja'd.

I love you.

OP: A Clockwork Orange and The Shining are some of my favorite not-so-famous movies. The Evil Dead movies are a strange combination of pure stupid, creepy, and funny. That's all I've got.

Jonestown. It's a very well-done PBS documentary, with interviews with the survivors, including a widower of one of the people who killed themselves.

Pick up a few John Carpenter movies, such as Big Trouble In Little China (for fun, action and a wee bit of mystery), The Thing (for a paranoia-inspiring monster-flick), In the Mouth Of Madness (ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER if you like Lovecraftian ideas), The Fog (for a classic ghost story) and many more.
Carpenter is a genius.

Uh...lets see...Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, any Kevin Smith movie (except Jersey Girl), and Cube.

I watched the first half of Eraserhead, I just couldn't stand the slow pace and long silences, which is why I HATED 2001: Space Odyssey.

If you're not offended by gratuitous amounts of gore and sex I would say Cannibal Holocaust. I couldn't watch it, my friend tried to make me watch it but I just don't like that kind of thing, he seemed to enjoy it though (I think he needs to see a therapist). Suffice it to say that this movie is not for children, or some adults even.
