Fastest way of getting rid of bully is self confidence. If the bullies dont stay away with ample amounts of it, stab the "leader" of the bullies in a fleshy area that will not leave permanent damage with a sharpened stick/pencil. Or you could set one of my "infamous" traps, IE. Say something smart to them, get them to chase you to a secluded area filled with weapons that you've planted there and assault them. That always worked for me.
.

Are we talking about real life or Fallout 3 here? What weapons that are legal for a 14 year old English lad could I acquire. Oh wait, BB guns and the odd paint grenade. Guess that could work or make the problem alot worse.
Make sure he hits you first, then stab him. I dont know about you Brits, but here in the United States we have the right to defend ourselves from bodily harm.

Have you considered learning a martial art? It provides a HUGE boost to confidence and often times if a bully knows you can defend yourself, he wont bother. If you cant afford the training, consider getting an old military handbook on hand to hand combat. It worked well for me after a bully found himself with a broken arm. You could look online to find out how to get one or learn the moves. Ultimately though, you must evaluate the threat that person poses to you, and what would the consequences be your actions if you were to break an arm or neck.

A rope.

Seriously, everyone is gets depressed at 14, get over it and grow up.
If someone is bullying you, punch their lights out.
If you're a weed, sneak up behind the bastards with a chair or something.

I like you.

On topic, the chair idea is alright, but you have to remember that there's no point tapping them. If you're going to smack them with a blunt object (they'll call it that) make sure you actually hurt the prick. There's nothing more embarrassing than hitting someone and them barely noticing, plus they'll beat the crap out of you and witnesses will say you started it.

Basically everything is about prespective, right now you'll be focusing on that bully ,exams, friends, and girls. If you go into a levels it'll be exams, friends, girls and getting into uni. Once you get out of education it just becomes friends, girls and work.

The bully wont be around forever and hobbies are a great way to meet new friends. Work is rarely a problem because 99% of the world has managed to get a job. And girls are complicated, my advice dont get too attached until you hit 20 because 90% of the time it'll end badly.

Just remember that no matter how bad you think you've got it, there are people in the same situation as you and there are also people who have it ALOT worse than you.

Self defence! "He hit me first, I was only defending myself", Chairs are a bit heavy, textbooks make better weapons as they focus the pressure of the blow over a small area. Hit someone across the head with a heavy mathbook above the temple and the will think twice before picking a fight with you again.

I've had depression many, many, well, a lot of times.
Though usually it's very temporary, as something in my life always makes me happy when I'm depressed.
Also, when something good is going to happen in a few days, I usually forget depression, and wait for it.

But yeah, when you're bullied, that's not good.
Although I've usually been the guy who doesn't get bullied, a few years ago I was bullied for a period of time.
Although it's a stupid thing to bully about, it was my name.
I was kinda desperate and sad etc, but it all passed, and I tried to, when I got home, think of school as little as I could.

Also, I have had more and more depression lately, as I was diagnosed with a disease that's not fatal, and can even be covered from almost anyone, but I am limited from doing many things now, and I have had many moments where I don't even want to live, because my life went from careless to so hard, but I also seem to get over it.
I usually get over it by going to the internet.
Running away from my real-life for abit.
Into the internet, where everybody is equal, and there are no such things as nerdy appearance, diseases, funny accents (except for videos) etc.

Yeah, but again depending on the force behind the hit you might just piss them off. It's all a matter of hurting the person enough that they don't want to fight you again, and little enough that they can't sue. For some reason parents are protective of their children, no matter how annoying the bastard is, and will do their best to get you back, maybe through violence maybe through court. I still say something heavy and hard. Less cushion behind the impact.

When I said chair, I meant a folding metal one.
My cheap ass school had them when I was 14, good times.

Also, theres nothing more depressing than being on anti-depressants. I suggest when you go the theropy, take a nap. Or just pretend you're a complete nutcase. If the person you're seeing knows ANYTHING about psychology, they're realise that you're not taking the time seriously and will just sit and listen to you babble on about whatever crap that has nothing to do with your feelings. After a while, you'll feel better.

Or just invest in a rope.

Appearing to be nerdy/geeky/weak has its benefits, nobody will suspect that you will fight back, and they will let their guard down. You could use all of this to your advantage, have people fear you. Fear is a powerful weapon against bullies. Take drastic action the first time you are bullied and it will send a message to the rest. Dont mess with me if you value your life.

Depression sucks. I've had it and still suffer from it now and again. The hardest part about depression is actually talking to people about it because either a) they think it's just "the blues" and tell you to just "cheer up" or b) give you advice that you can't really use.

Not knocking any of the comments here, because they are all speaking in your best interest. Exercise, sunlight, eating good food is imperative. I have a combination of depression and SAD, which makes it an order of magnitude worse in the winter.

Just one piece of advice I can offer: don't get medication unless you're sure it's a physiological problem. Because I've been on those and it can cause you more problems in the long-term with side effects (most notably and ironically suicidal tendencies). God gave us plenty of natural anti-depressants (endorphines) and they work better, faster and help you in the long end.

Just keep in mind, most people suffer from it in their life but either don't know it or won't admit to it.

Yeah, could work, and there's the off chance that you cut the guy. My school has shitty plastic chairs which would be useless in a fight, maybe use a fire extinguisher? Heavy and full of chemicals.

Bullet to the brain, no seriously, you've got your whole life ahead of you, bullies tend to disappear for the most part in college and university, if they don't they get shunned. So just tough it out, get one of those hang in there cat posters

Remember how you said you didn?t want any flamers to post, well in that case completely ignore everything that this Helnurath guy is saying. Not only am I convinced his ship pulls into boner cove every time a new issue of tiggerbeat magazine comes out with Jonny depp on the cover but his advice has been terrible.

That being said I feel for you man. All I can say is don?t give up on your friends yet. Be optimistic, this may be a hard one to take but maybe they arnt as amped to hang out because your depressed all the time. I don?t mean to hurt you man, im just trying to give you perspective. Give one of them a call im sure someone will still want to hangout.

As for the bully situation, that?s a tuff one ( especially him living on the same street). I can just give you my experiences. Try to avoid to fight at first, fighting can turn two guys who dislike each other into hating each other. But hey, if there?s no other way out fight back so hard he never wants to even look at you again. You may get the beat down of your life but I guess you have to be ready.

This last one may seem a little weird on a gamming site, but try to do something other then gamming for awhile. Playing videogames always makes me feel more depressed and unproductive.

Lastly if you need something to do I would try reading either the perks of being a wall flower or the catcher in the rye. They are the perfect books for teenage angst.

I have to disagree with this. Being 14 is NOT the best days of your life. And if they are then you need to seriously reassess your life. Let's be honest... being 14 sucks. The best days of your life should be in your 20's-30's. Or perhaps 60+... depending on your retirement plan.

But, it's important to remember that time passes quickly, and before you know it, things will get better.

I usually reserve this line for the guy on MP who gets pissed off and starts screaming at everyone else in the game, and say it with a priceless dripping sarcasm. Seriously though, my friend and I do this every couple weeks-

Go to the pet store, go over to the fuzzy bunnies, pick one up, and pet it. You can't be depressed while petting fuzzy bunnies. It's impossible.

More seriously, if it's clinical depression caused by a chemical imbalance, drugs help. If there are precipitating factors, talking or other forms of therapy may help more than drugs. Really, there are tons of ways to deal with depression, but the worst way is to sit and stew.

I was gonna say alcohol until you put down your age, so there goes that. Most of the time, when i'm depressed, I resort to some gym time, or other physical activity. If you don't want to go outside, try cooking or baking. It gets your mind off of the bad thoughts, puts it towards something productive, and you get good food at the end! There are no downsides to that!

I know it's cold as balls in england right now, too, so i'd say a little hot chocolate never killed anyone that wasn't lactose intollerant.

I suppose it's a retrospective thing, but I have to say being 21 completely sucks. And despite all the awkwardness at the time, I still wish I was fourteen again.

Honestly, it's the best time in your life to actually have fun and just be happy. Too many people take it way too seriously, and end up rushing into their twenties like me, getting light-headed from sitting up too fast and having no enthusiasm for anything.

Well most the people here are helping. I'm feeling less depressed now. I actually went and did some exercise just now and I did feel better. Thanks Escapist.
