Sweeping generalizations don't work, and I don't like them. All their songs are the same, and the lead voice needs to open his mouth more when he sings. Oh, and the person who posted beneath you doesn't like them either, accurate generalization you made there :)
You're funny x] You generalise too.

I didn't say everyone likes them, I said I can't think of anyone who doesn't like them. Various people I know who otherwise have very different music preferences all seem to like Muse at least somewhat, and I never heard anyone say they don't like Muse before this thread.

I like them but a lot of their songs on their newer album i find not very good. I do have good memories of stockholm sydrome and resident evil 4, it just worked.

Don't like them at all.

At first they were Radiohead rip offs, then they had a few good albums, then they went too "epic". I was a fan for a while, but I really can't bare listening to them anymore. They are pretentious I think. They have a very simple song structure and dress it up with elaborate vocals and guitar/piano.

I admire them technically though, they're fucking talented.

Love them.

Musically talented, don't all sound the same, aren't afraid to mix it up a little, and can I love the vocalist.

I can see why other people wouldn't, but I'm a pretty big fan.

like a few songs but certainly not all. don't listen to them very much. something about muse rubs me the wrong way, though not as much as coldplay does.

i like bliss, hysteria (awesome bass-line FTW), supermassive blackhole, knights of cydonia and starlight.

While this does suck, "Neutron Star Collision" is a pretty bitchin' song.
Trudat. If you ignore the video, it is actually really good.

I like some of their songs but most of their songs just sound the same to me, my friend has assaulted me for saying that to her, oh well:p

I find the actual songs and music to be a bit boring honestly, they take themselves very seriously but they don't make up for it in interesting-ness.

They can very well be technically good but that comes secondary to grabbing the listeners ear.

I quite like Uprising, though one of my friends absolutely despises them for extremely petty and biased reasons, I mean when attempting to annoy people I will sing most of their stuff but I'm not prone to listening to them in my spare time.

Like them, seen them, have all the albums. Not really a major fan though. They wouldn't rate on a shortlist of my thirty favourite bands.

How many Escapists like Muse? I've been a fan of them since Origin of Symmetry, and I'm just curious how many others on the Escapist like them.
I am a shameless fanboy.
Do you like Ours and/or Radiohead?

Of course it's a matter of taste, I find their music refreshingly unique.

Hullabaloo and Origin of Symmetry are masterpieces, but I don't really care for their later stuff. Great live band, though.

I can take or leave them. Their first album is too much like Radiohead for me to take it seriously. Origin of Symmetry and Absolution are pretty good albums, especially Stockholm Syndrome, which I think is the best song they've done. From thereon they just seem to get more up their own backsides. I'm a fan of prog, but not prog for the sake of it like Muse seem to have degenerated to.

My favourite Muse album is Origin of Symmetry, my favourite song is City of Delusion from Black Holes and Revelations album. But the rest of their stuff doesn't cut it for me. I don't actively dislike it but I never get the urge to play, for example, something from The Resistance.

I'd never even heard of this group until this thread and after listening to the songs posted I have only one reaction:

Meh.

There's a little invisible bit at the start of his sentence that reads: "of the people I know,".

OT: Nope.

I personally enjoy Muse. I have a lot of their songs on my MP3 player. I personally enjoy there Absolution album the most with my favorite songs being "Soldier Side", "Uprising", "Sing for Absolution", and "Undisclosed Desires." I got to go to one of their concerts and I really liked it. I couldn't help but laugh at a commercial once where they were using "Butterflies and Hurricanes." They were using the song to showcase some new seasons of popular shows on a certain channel with that song playing in the background. It was suppose to sound uplifting and inspirational, but I knew that they got it wrong because the song is about getting revenge on someone and bidding your time to do it. It made me laugh pretty hard.

On a side note, I enjoy them because they are much better than any of today's American rock groups. Seriously what happened to American rock music? Did the nasty drug habit known as "the 80s" leave permanent brain damage to the music industry? They are a very few songs from the 90s to the present that I enjoy.
