OP is a liar. Arm doesn't eat potato chips, it only grabs them. I wanted to see an arm eat potato chips, you wasted my time.

This guy might be able to.

"you've might have"

Maybe the person doing the translations in the advert also wrote this article?

BEHOLD a new method of lazyness!
Indeed! So lazy, infact, that you even spell laziness wrong! :p

Anyway, while this invention is hilarious, I think the Japanese are better off just using chopsticks. They seemed to work just fine to me.

Plus, am I the only one who thinks that using a non-Japanese person in this commercial shows a lack of confidence on Takara Tomy's part? :p

Wait, what very little they showed of the chopsticks indicated they would work fine. Stupid ad showing a cheaper alternative.

Edit: It's also a bit asinine, and crazy.
Yeah, they didn't even bother breaking it with the chop sticks or at least even try to make it seem chop sticks are awkward. It might have appeal in non asian countries where no one knows how to use them I guess. Or you could just wash your hands.
And the title is very misleading, as another poster has said it's purely a mechanical device; nothing impressive about that at all.

Amazing! Give whoever invented this wondrous chip-aid a medal...no a diploma...no....100000$.
Long gone are the days of greasy fingers and annoying crumbs. All hail this fantastical invention! (not actually going to buy one)

Cyborg means cybernetic organism, this is mechanical.

That little grievance out of the way, is anyone else remembering the extraordinarily surreal Japanese commercial Joey did in Friends? Because the commerical for this is even weirder. What the hell is that badly dubbed American doing there?

Anywho, I don't tend to eat when I game, so I don't need this, but it still looks like it might be handy, for something, maybe...
ah you pointed out my single grievance as well. :)

anyway i don't remember that commercial but i remember the commercial on the simpsons when homer wondered why he was on a japanese box. It turned out it was a soap box and the logo was a combination of a fish and light bulb that just happened to look like him.

Dear gods, am I the only one that was waiting for the "Inspector Gadget" theme at the start of the ad? "Go! Go! Gadget arm!"

That and this is a Japanese product being sold by someone speaking English dubbed by someone else speaking Japanese. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere.
