The wierd tower looking thing and the water around it is in a very similar shape. I doubt it's anything but maybe a expansion where you go back to Cyrodiil?
There will be mods coming out for that i guess. Building up a different Cyrodiil next to Skyrim would be sheer madness workloadwise but then there must be thousands of mad modders out there. I say chances are not that bad.
I know what you mean. Have you seen/heard of Tamriel Rebuilt. Building the rest of Morrowind from scratch.

I remember in the Bethesda forums people asking for a New Vegas dlc that brought you back to Washington, over and over and over again. NOSTALGA TIME
I believe this [http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41480] is what you're looking for.

OT: That's pretty badass, I hope they make a DLC or something.

People seem to have Arena and Daggerfall mixed up...it was Daggerfall (The 2nd game in the series) which had the INCREDIBLY huge map...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_II:_Daggerfall

OT: I think after they have done each area, they will make a huge MMO world, it would be stupid not to, however they have at least 5 other area's left, and they will probably revisit Hammerfell (The starting area in Daggerfall i believe)

Honestly, I'm still praying that Bethesda makes some sort of super game that involves all of the continents and is just a gigantic epic adventure.
Elder Scrolls VI: Tamriel

*crosses fingers*
Even better would be The Elder Scrolls VII: Nirn :D
OT: I saw a video of this earlier, they've included the height mesh of some of the surrounding areas, but it all clips off somewhere, so you don't get the whole of Cyrodiil, Morrowind, High Rock or Hammerfell, only cut off parts. For now, I'm guessing it's just for use with the distant land feature, so that when you climb a high mountain, you could see to the far lands beyond. Similarily, Oblivion had parts of Hammerfell if you went east.
Is it there to accomodate future expansions? Probably not in it's current state, it's too raw and unfinished for that. Does it have future potential, not only for Bethesda, but also for modders? Yes.

I thought you could go to Morrowind in Oblivion. At least a bit of it.
You're not thinking of the Tribunal expansion are you? That takes place in Mournhold. It's a temple city inside the capital of Morrowind.

OT: That island around the tower does look a lot like the Imperial Island...

Mod the hell out of it and you'll have your dreams come true.

Man I so would but I only got a netbook at the moment...I think if I get money this Christmas I'll invest in a tower though. I'm so tired of bugs in the console versions of these games.

Well, somebody made a New Vegas mod where you go to the wastes of Washington from Fallout 3. It's not that far fetched.
Both those games were made on the same buggy engine and use the same basic design. Even so the mod has trouble with things like system comparabilities and random bugs deciding to reappear and disappear at will. Well that and the whole possibly very illegal thing.
They got around the "possibly illegal" thing by requiring the original Fallout 3 to be actually installed in order to reference the files--but otherwise, yeah, I get you on that one. Even so, the Skyrim engine can't be too far off from the Oblivion engine. Bethesda's got the files and everything, you have to figure their engineers could find a way to import that landscape in a (relatively) stable fashion.

Uhm that game was already made. It's the first Elder Scrolls game named Arena. When you choose your race you start in that region so nords started in Skyrim, dark elves in Morrowind.Sure the landscape changed before it was all a continent with a island(home of high elves) to the south west, but still the location of the regions are the same even if they are separated in other ways.

So sooner or later you'll get some huge mod where you'll go to Cyrodiil just like in Oblivion you could go to Morrowind.

It would be nice, but it would be too much effort to re-create cyrodiil in the new engine. Sure, they could use some of the art assets from Skyrim - people, faces, armour, some of the houses and structures.... but they'd still have to design a new land-scape, and new art to fit in with the much less snowy setting.

I can imagine them putting in some DLC in which you explore a city - maybe a small island much in the same vein as Oblivion's "Shivering Isles" DLC - which was awesome by the way. But like Fallout and Oblivion, if there are new areas to explore as DLC, you won't be able to walk there - you'll have to go through a cave, or a portal or a place that will transport you there automatically. It's just much easier that way.

You know what would be funny, if a DLC for skyrim where you get to explore Cyrodill comes out. And it costs 15 dollars, I bet some people would be whining about how much it is.

OT: That is pretty cool, can you even see that from the mainland of skyrim? Because im sure bethesda wouldnt put that in just for people with no clip on.

yeah you could, the map would change and you'd get over the mountain (I was young and unknowing of the limits so I tried) then for a bit everything would suddenly be built up again as normal map untill you hit an invisible wall at a river behind the mountain

Didn't someone already do that? I think someone made a full blown HD mod using a lot of other mods plus some of their own work, but it got shot down because of unfair use of other people's proerties.

I've heard about Morroblivion, which was basically a rewrite of Morrowind, using the Oblivion engine.

I never bothered with that though. I'll leave Morrowind in its happy place in my memory!

No you couldn't.
Yes you could. It was basically a glitch, and the entire place was randomly generated, but you COULD. It was just really boring.

OT: I doubt there'll be an expansion, although it would be cool. That's probably just something meant to be seen from a large distance, though.

Why return to the generic medieval fantasyville of Cyrodil? It lacked the artistic aesthetics of Morrowind and the bone-chilling atmosphere of Solsthiem. Even Daggerfall's randomised rockies enthralled me more.

And as for the whole "ERRY PART OF TAMRIEL IN ONE GAEM" concept? Go play Arena. It's free.

Imagine the size of the case when it has to fit like 8+ DVD's in it. Would be awesome though.

Yeah, but remember Cyrodiil is supposed to have been torn up in the war with the Thalmor. It'd be quite a different environment and state now than it was during the previous Era.
Morrowind's volcano errupted and now it's a giant wasteland of death and decay

I'd rather see that
