For my birthday last year, one of my players (I am the DM) made a gazebo cake (complete with demonic eyes and fangs) in the same style as the picture from the OP as in the famous tale of Eric and the Gazebo.

Beyond that, I don't think you can get any more iconic for D&D than a beholder.

The difficulty with a beholder cake is that beholders are pretty specifically ugly. While I'm not expecting the cake to be pretty per say I want people to want to eat it.

Would it be fun to decorte cake out with the favorite food of your best friend and closest family made out of chocolat or marzipan? It would look like a cozy mess of food and your best friends and closest family would feel appreciated and everyone else will think the cake looks cool because of all the details. Don't forget to dedicate the upper level or middle of the cake to you and your loved one, because that day it's all about you two.

D&D has been part of my life for longer than anything except my family, that there will be a D&D cake is set. There will also be a semi-traditional wedding cake but this one's for me.
And thanks for the congrats, I'm a lucky guy.

The only issue I have with the Beholder cake is that beholders are really ugly and I do want it to look like something worth eating.
