Oh? As long as i don't have to believe in anything the game tells me to i'm ok with it
That's rather ironic, since in Dantes Inferno, Dante uses the Devil to enter Heaven (Well...via purgatory at least.)EgoDeusEst said:Plot spoiler! (Because I'm a dick!)
The Devil will use Dante as a tool for entering Paradise, thus paving the way for sequals. What? You couldn't tell from the trailers?
The Devine Comedy
The game will be very loosely based on the book. VERY loosely.
Yes but i believe modern day christianity gave it the form currently used in games like this, The seas of flames and stuff, We shall never knowfullmetalangel said:I highly doubt there is anybody who really knows the "actual" origin of the concept of hell, but hell is a very common religious idea, and there are religions with "hell" that precede Christianity.Lord_Duke said:Oh? I basicly meant that nowadays hell is mostly used as a concept for christians where the not so perfect people go, But what is the actual origin then?
For one, I'd like to point out that the Egyptian religion, whatever that was called, dates back to 2500BC with Osiris, the god of their underworld/afterlife.
It's probably a concept that's been with humans for as long as we've existed, possibly even before then by our evolutionary ancestors.
edit: my bad, Ancient Egyptian religion predates Osiris by quite a long time, dating back at least to 3000BC
The demo isn't coming to the 360 until the 24thDistorted Stu said:I may check out th edemo on xbox later on, i loved GoW, so this may intrest me.
actualy seas of flame and such are probably more of a result of the industrial revolution and the fact that smelting plants gave probably a very good impression of what hell would be, hot and fiery. Altho in the middle ages preachers liked to spice up sermans with alot of hellfire since alot of people would come for a good show. RANDOM IDEA MAN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!Lord_Duke said:Yes but i believe modern day christianity gave it the form currently used in games like this, The seas of flames and stuff, We shall never knowfullmetalangel said:I highly doubt there is anybody who really knows the "actual" origin of the concept of hell, but hell is a very common religious idea, and there are religions with "hell" that precede Christianity.Lord_Duke said:Oh? Religion also sounds like random ideas to my ears, Altough the concept of burning in hell and stuff is alot older then that, We kinda went off topic here i believeWorgen said:actualy seas of flame and such are probably more of a result of the industrial revolution and the fact that smelting plants gave probably a very good impression of what hell would be, hot and fiery.
