Let's take our minds off of Mass Effect 3 shall we? Let's talk about Dark Souls, specifically, the bosses. Now in Dark Souls I'm just entering Blighttown so I have some ways to go. Here are the bosses that I have defeated so far

Asylum Demon
Taurus Demon
Bell Gargoyles
Stray Demon
Moonlight butterfly
Capra Demon
Gaping Dragon

In that order (yeah I got lost). The awards I give out are

Biggest pain in the ass and biggest HELL YES moment goes to the Stray Demon, I honestly think it took fifteen minutes to whittle his health bar down. and he can easily one hit you. Oh yeah, and death by Demon ass isn't exactly something to brag about. Finally killing that SOB was one of the best moments I have had playing this game so far.

Biggest Wake up call. The Bell Gargoyles defiantly take this, being the first bosses to give me serious trouble, with their powerful fire attacks, long reaching blade and the fact that there are two of them

Biggest Letdown: The Gapping Dragon was surprisingly easy. To be fair I had a phantom helping me, and as I pointed out above it took me some time to get to this point, but both of us barely took any damage and it was easily to wail on the thing. I was dreading this fight too and it turned out to be pretty easy.

What are your thoughts on the bosses of dark souls?

Gaping Dragon is ridiculously easy. So long as you kill the channeller is basically just an endurance test. Otherwise, the Stray Demon type enemies were fucking annoying until I realised the best thing to do is actually get up close rather than staying back (unless healing was required).
But the ultimate biggest letdown has got to be when I co-oped (co-opped? Coped? BAH) with somebody and Solaire phantom against Fatboy Slim. Two mages+ Solaire distracting them for us is OP as all hell.

Honestly, the Asylum Demon gave me trouble the first time I played, now he is a joke (telegraphs attacks and it is easy to maneuver around him).
Oh, Orstein and Smough, you gleefully tossed me around like a rag doll. Hardest fight in the game for me.
Th final boss is disappointingly easy (he can be parried).
And biggest WTF from a design decision goes to Four Kings. No strategy, just a DPS match. It is so unlike the other bosses.

My personal favorite boss is a tie between Ornstien and Smough, Nito, and Quelaag.

O&S are just a lot of fun to fight, both by yourself and Co-Op (provided you don't have twinks completely destroying them). It's a long, drawn out fight, and really pushes your skills and preparation to the max.

Nito is a fun fight by yourself. He's actually pretty easy, but if you forgo the use of a divine weapon his skeleton buddies suddenly become a lot more dangerous, and the fight as a whole becomes a great game of "Dodge the mobs while attacking the boss".

Quelaag is just my favorite co-op boss, and I like her design. Plus, for one reason or another I found her EXTREMELY difficult my first time through, so I still recall that feeling of finally taking her down.

Biggest Wakeup call for most people is going to be Bell Gargoyles, but I'm going to suggest Capra Demon. If only because he's the first boss fight to really do everything on his own terms. As someone once put it "It's like being locked in a bathroom stall with Satan".

Biggest Letdown is Seath. Huge build up, cool areas proceeding him, and then a few minutes of running counterclockwise while humping his tentacles. Far too easy.

Hardest boss for me ( i was pure melee on my first run while not looking at any walkthroughs) was queelag spider ***** , took me 3 hours to kill her ( dying and running back)

Easiest was , gaping dragon, seriously i was scared as hell when i saw him first but what a push over .

Biggest let-down was nito , seriously i had NO trouble killing him , even with his minions . Hes supposed to be a big baddie!

Honorable mention goes to dark gwyn lady , as a pure melee that was tough .

Also seath wasn't hard , getting to him was a *****, whoever thought up invisible floors should be shot , it took me SO LONG to notice the snow falling on the hidden path and i was walking at a snails pace out of fear .( remember no walkthrough)

Great game , one of my favorites of the current gen.

I feel so sorry for you. Which way of Blighttown are you going in? The back or the front?
Uh, which one has three orc things in the front with crazy purple zombies in the back?

Thats the back way.

Edit: wait. Are you crossing a small bridge? or is the area made up of ladder and poorly looking structure

Ok, so is that the easier way? Also if that's the back way then where is the front way, I had to kill the gapping dragon to get in the back. I shudder to think at what's guarding the front.

if you went with teh gapping dragon then thats the front. The back is if you have master key and went where the undead dragon was at.

Oh, then I guess I'm going in the front. BTW why do I randomly get affected by toxic when I go that way?

I had a very hard time with Grey Wolf Sif. I swear, he just kept cutting down my first character so often, I had to make a second one that was more str/faith-based just to kill him (I even got lucky, as far as drops were concerned).

Nito was a bit of a letdown, despite having skeletons on my balls. As long as I didn't stray too far from him and aggroed the giant skeletons in the back, I had no trouble.

All this talk about Dark Souls makes me wanna put that game in my 360 again.

Easiest for me was probably the Gargoyles...because I let Solaire kill them.

Stray Demon was annoying, since I was fighting him with the Drake Sword. Came back after getting the lightning spear and curb stomped him.

Smough & Orstein were probably the hardest, for me anyway.

You are getting hit by small darts. They give you toxic which is why the front way is hard as hell at the start of the game. Make sure you have tons of anti-toxic herbs for this area. you will need them if you are going through the front.

If you have the master key (Which is the thing you select at the start of the game) then you can go down to New landor go to the far right and go up those stairs. Unlock the door and walk across the bridge and there you can enter the back way. Which isn't as hard as the other place. Though you have to plan some jumps to get to the bottom of the area.

Stray Demon was the hardest boss in the game for me. Took many hours and so many attempts to kill his fat, stupid ass. Smough and Ornestien are considered the hardest in a normal game, and for good reason, but I guess I got lucky, because I only had to attempt them 3-4 times as opposed to the billion times I tried for Stray fucking Demon.

Bell Gargoyles, Capra Demon and Priscilla were my favorite boss fights. Best fight in the game was against against Oscar of Astora.

Goody, I have it. I've been avoiding New Landor ever since I realized I couldn't hurt the ghosts down there, but I think I'll take another look. Thanks for the help.

Remember it not where the ghost are at. When you go down that ramp just get off and head to the far right. There should be another door where you can go up.

The last two bosses I beat are Ornstein and Smough and Seath the Scaleless, and I was spamming the crossbow quite a bit. I wish you could just restart outside the boss area. Travelling there every attempt kinda limits the number of chances I'm going to take. Soooo loooong. Other than that, I think they're fantastic, like everything in that amazing game.

I guess the easiest for me was Capra, I almost felt bad for him. 4 Kings totally reamed me, I have to try again over the weekend.

Biggest pain in the ass and biggest HELL YES: For me it probably Quaalag(Sp?). She was a pain in the ass, and I needed some help with someone just to distract her so she wouldn't always come at me all the time. Though I was so glad and shouted when I beat her on my 3rd try.

Biggest Wake up call. Ornstein and Smough. Those two took me to the max in trying to beat them. I did it with a group (I was helping a lot of people) to farm souls and to see how to beat the guys if it came to by myself. Very good fight I had with those two bosses.

Biggest Letdown: Eh Same with Gaping dragon. It was pretty damn easy and even got his tail axe with ease.

Also tell me how you did with blighttown in going in the back way. (Giggty)

Edit: Oh by the way, what system are you useing?

There are guys shooting darts that inflict toxin. Go in there with the Spider Shield. It has great resistance. It can be found in the Sewers if you drop down the fireplace behind the first butcher.
