I don't listen to it, but here's an anecdote. My year 11 english teacher liked to chat with the class while we worked. This led to the below exchange:

Teacher: There's this song called The Bleeding, by Five Finger Death Punch
Andrew (friend of mine): Sounds cheerful...
Teacher: Well Andrew, some of us like that sort of music; we're not gay like you.

I'd probably say Komm Susser Todd from End of Evangelion, for sounding liking a cheery, Carpenters style song if you just listen to the melody... and having lyrics about someone deciding their life is such a horrible mess all they can do is commit suicide.

This thread needs the soundtrack to a surgery where the patient wakes up but is sedated enough and cannot move or respond. In other words, this:

Since the OP already posted a black metal song (my choice is Freezing Moon from Mayhem), I'm gonna post a definitely haunting and eerie song.

Not sure what you mean with dark, but I think this song is really sad when you combine the meaning and the music video. Even only listening to the word without analyzing it it's sad in itself.

There's dark as in dark comedy where I think this one fits in.

Well my favourite music is all metal, so this is a tough decision. Death metal in general is dark.
Gojira's music probably wins out for me though.

The Way of All Flesh:
http://www.metrolyrics.com/the-way-of-all-flesh-lyrics-gojira.html

Most of their stuff is about human beings squandering the Earth's resources and leading to their own destruction, whilst they searching for meaning in life (a futile endeavor) before 'the shell returns to dust'. All of these lyrical ideas are over the top of relentlessly sinister guitar work with weird drum patterns and harsh vocals. It. Sounds. Fucking. Terrifying.
But awesome at the same time. Like the musical equivalent of Alien.

Try watching the music video for Vacuity.

Oh, or these lyrics: http://www.metrolyrics.com/esoteric-surgery-lyrics-gojira.html
Another gojira song, creepiest writing ever.

Eminem's Stan and Johnny Cash's Hurt were the first that came into mind. Both already mentioned.

And not really this, but in a way, this:

There's probably at least a dozen of other songs too, but can't remember them straight off the bat.

I know this is kind of different when compared to the rest of these, it's dark in very different way. That being said, when

Dealing with some serious chronic depression myself, I know I have to be very careful when I listen to this. Another song that affects me pretty similarly is this:

I'd have to say this is the darkest song I know of. It's pretty much completely dark.

First thing that popped out of my mind

It is nothing but a blatant loud exposé of what probably was real religion

Aa-herit Nebu Huit-Ra
We come before Thee wearing serpent headed Masks
In sanguinary worship we offer the Tcheser-t Senfiu
The sacrificial drink of the Gods of Blood
in a goblet carved from a human skull

Aa-t-aru
Fiendish blood drinking reptile Lord of the Ankhit-Thekh
rites of bloodfeast
We propitiate Thee with our own fluid of life
and the freely offered flesh of these ritual prostitutes
that Thou mayest copulate with thine self
and spill Thy seed upon the Black Earth

Aui-f-em-kha-nef Netri nek khefa
We don the Abui ames Machta the ceremonial two horned phallus
to become as like unto the two horned serpent god Sekhui
We besmear ourselves with the bloodseed of
the living serpent goddess Arati
And with curved blades
shed our skin

Lustmord
Blood Box
Sunn O)))'s Black One album.
Axis of Perdition's "Deleleted Scenes From The Transition Hospital" album.
Agallochs "A Desolation Song"
Rome. The discog. All of it. Goddamn that man has issues.
