3. Do not buy Bayonetta for the PS3. Lag and graphics issues are reported to be bad.
Yeah, and those are not biased reports at all.

[sub]Totally being sarcastic here by the way[/sub]
Right, IGN is on a mission to discredit the PS3 as a platform.
Also, Far Cry for the Wii was good.
Actually, the IGN part does sound logical...
Gamespot who have given their GotY to PS3 exclusives at least 2 years in a row:

Bayonetta on the PlayStation 3 is simultaneously gratuitous, ludicrous, and great, but it's unfortunately held back from its potential by a number of technical issues.
* Frequent, lengthy load times
* Frame rate hiccups during high-action sequences
* Some minor camera issues.

I'm going to go for "Bayonetta", just becuase I can only really enjoy one game at a time. "Darksiders" has crept up on many people unawares. There are just so many good games now, so one more is a bit of a surprise.

I'm getting Bayonetta for the PS3 and Darksiders for the 360. I really haven't read up too much on either so I'll find out about them when I buy them.
Get Bayonetta for the 360 also.

From what I've heard the developers messed up the PS3 port....=/

I know "versus thread! Go away noob!" but this is a serious question. And I'm not a noob so at least read what I have to say.

I had planned on buying both of these games today, but after looking at some reviews of Darksiders, I'm not so sure.

The main complaints I heard was that its short and has a completely ridiculous story, but most reviewers give it 10/10 or 8+ but story and the length of the game are two major factors for me when I play.

So should I get this along with Bayonetta or wait until something else comes out?
what consoles you got?
PS3
Wait for God of War 3!!!
Wait until Mars?

Uh... I can see a glaring hole in your plan. It's called "2 months without a new game"
No, there are plenty of games. Try renting Bayonetta and Darksiders. If you like them, purchase. But seriously, if GOW 1&2 were an indication GOW3 should be great (and worth every penny as opposed to the 2 mentionned).

BTW, played the Bayonetta demo and it was okay. If not for the over the top sexuality I might consider it myself. I was never too interested in Madureira's Darksiders though. Jo Mad's art style went south during his stint on X-Men many years ago, and thus puts a strike against Darksiders in my book. The game might be really good though. RENT.

EDIT: When I was a younger lad, I only got 1-2 new games a year. Patience is a virtue.
But you said Wait for GoW3.. Therefore saying that you should not be getting anything else.

I only saw the trailer for Bayonetta today (Christmas holiday at parents with naff internet you see) and it screamed "oversexed" from the start. Which is the whole reason I never bought WET just from looking at the poster. I like a good looking protagonist but sometimes it's just patronising.

Am going to have to wind up my parents internet a little more and have a look see at Darksiders.

Also, who let the troll in?

Bayonetta looks like solid gold. Tits are either a good thing, or something that shouldn't bother you.

The game has challenge, style and above all, as I say often, it's damned fun.
I, myself do not like Darksiders that much. Didn't like the characters. If you like them, then by all means, purchase the game.

I would wait for the price to go down a bit. The game may be good, but a short game isn't really worth a $60 price tag. I say get Mass Effect 2 or wait a month for Bioshock 2.

Also, just ignore the troll. The mods will deal with them shortly.

You bastard, you had to bring it up, I want both too! You're making me very much want to grab Bayonetta right after even more than before just by bringing it up.

But seriously, I've seen very little on Darksiders and I'm very very excited to grab it. It's by my favorite artist so that alone put it high on a list, the gameplay looked great too. Short? People say short like it's a bad thing, sometimes that makes the game better because it doesn't drag on. Then again I know little on the game, supposed to be like Zelda meets God of War, which seems to me like a winning combo since the combat in Zelda is simple and God of War has little exploration. (neither a bad thing but to be improved upon is a good thing right?

Bayonetta I want because it's made by the guy who did DMC, and I thought DMC 4 was okay, more like half a game copied and pasted with a better character at the 2nd half (Dante). So Bayonetta is more like the rest of the game or DMC5 maybe to me. Making me really want it.

Apparently the PS3 version of Bayonetta is terrible. Lots of slowdown, and it doesn't look anywhere near as good as the 360 version:

Oh god damn it...

Wait, you're worried about Darksiders when Bayonetta is basically a cheap cop out for pornographic version of Devil May Cry, a series that has done nothing but decline in quality since it's second game? It's basically just a button masher with a railroad track for a plot so some sleezey woman with a unique way of stripping/killing can leer at the camera and make vaguely suggestive comments.

Not to say Bayonetta is bad..even though that's my current opinion, you're entitled to your own, but I find it odd you'd think Darksiders would be any worse.

Protip: When someone ask for advice about a game they usually want to talk to people who have played the whole game. I completed Bayonetta a couple of days ago and I had a lot of fun. My only real complaint is that most the unlockable weapons are to well hidden and become impossible for me to find, I actually ended up beating the game with only the weapons that were in the demo.

I can't speak for Darksiders personally but I plan to get it as soon as possible.

Ehh, after playing both, I've decided the following:

Bayonetta = Meh

Darksiders = Slightly better, but it's no God of War.

But, that's just me.

Between the Babe and the Stud-Muffin trying so hard to be butch, huh?

Well, if you insist upon having the best version of a game, you might want to wait to buy an Xbox 360 for Bayonetta. Of course, if you're the type who are offended (or pretend to be offended) by fiery women, then you had best pass until something with a blander female lead comes along(or go play Devil May Cry 4 with it's non-threatening androgynous male lead,inferior though it is!).

Darksiders is probably a better bet for the PS3. It's the manlier choice, anyway, and thus closer to Ryga...God of War, anyway.
Edit: How much do you trust IGN?
