right im stuck here, Darksiders seems like a really decent looking game with strong looking combat but apparently theres not alot too it in terms of mods, upgrades or even end game material? Whereas Bayonetta.... the gameplay looks epic in terms of combat and mixing things up and customisation, but the story and the actual characters seem a bit cheesy/crap.

anyone here got both/either? or know anything about either that could sway it for me?

Bayonetta is incredibly fun, but I think Darksiders is a little more epic.

Bayonerra is all about the gameplay, the story and characters are designed to be batshit stupid/crazy, and I like that.

Darksiders is not as much about combat as you may think, and has some nice puzzles and is kinda like a good modern day Zelda.

Well I bought Darksiders when it came out and I really enjoyed it. I've played the Bayonetta demo and I thought it was a little too pedantic and a tad meh.

I just cant bring myself to get bayonetta because it stress sexuality too much and thats just kinda weird for a video game to be doing imo. If I want to look at boobies on a screen ill just turn on the internet. I just think darksiders looks more badass and the gameplay looks a little more enjoyable.

If you liked Devil May Cry and don't have a male ego issue get Bayonetta. If you like Zelda and Legacy of Kain, get Darksiders. Easy.

A pointless thread, i mean depends what you are into. I mean for people who like long quest zelda style games you go for darksiders. If you like action and games like DMC you buy bayonetta. They are both fantastic games, just depends what you are into they are completely different games.

From what I've heard, Bayonetta has the same lead designer as the God of War games, unless I've got this wrong, and its recieved great ratings for its combat, and it's downfall is definitely the voice acting and cheesy script. It thinks its smart satire, but is rather immature.

From what I've heard about Darksiders... it pretends to be an action game, but is actually a poor man's Zelda, minus dungeons or nice puzzles...

However, these are just some things I've heard. ^__^

You've heard incorrectly.

For me, Bayonetta. The cheesy plotline is entirely knowing and satirical, and funny if you go with it.

lol, well I'm not infallible xD.

I also said designer of God Of War for bayonetta, but it appears my brain slipped and meant to say Devil May Cry, i think.

Anyway, I wasn't biased towards either, I merely said what I've read, heard, and watched.

Fixed.

And as one who's bought Bayonetta I'll say that the voice acting and script is no worse than an anime. This is Hideki Kamiya doing what he does best, which is being batshit silly and loving every minute of it.

As for the combat, I'm playing it on normal difficulty right now as all I'll say is that if you lose your focus for even a second you'll get your ass handed to you over and over again. It's a proper challenge.

I love it ^_^

Thank you my good sir for fixing my post. I'd go back and change it in the original now, but I make a habit of not changing posts that had to be corrected. I was wrong, I won't shy away from it. ^_^

Anyway, I'm glad its so good, now another game I have to put on my "To Play" list. Sucks that it REALLY isn't the kind of game I can play with family in the room, however.

I have Darksiders, and am thoroughly enjoying it. It's about sixty percent exploration and puzzles, and forty percent combat. As other people have said, it's like Zelda. Only based on Earth after everyone's died.

Bah, just point out that it's deliberately trying to be OTT and laugh at it. That way when the angel starts borderline masturbating(spoiler?)your parents will be okay with it ^_^
