This thread was done last week..I joke you not.
I personally think Darksiders is good but if you like pure corny action Bayonetta is for you.

I really enjoyed Darksiders. It's quite over the top and has a good, flowing battle system. It is mostly focused on puzzles and dungeons but they are well made and some of them made me scratch my head for awhile. Plus Darksiders is Vigil Studios first game and I would like to see more of this kind of thing. They did quite a good job with their first try. Plus, as John Funk said, their are worse games to take cues from than LoZ. Plus I don't think I could think a lady with hair all over her body, so thick that it is practically clothing, could be sexy.

right im stuck here, Darksiders seems like a really decent looking game with strong looking combat but apparently theres not alot too it in terms of mods, upgrades or even end game material? Whereas Bayonetta.... the gameplay looks epic in terms of combat and mixing things up and customisation, but the story and the actual characters seem a bit cheesy/crap.

anyone here got both/either? or know anything about either that could sway it for me?

What platform is it on? I've spent 2-3 hours in each game on the PS3, and each game got its own strength and weaknesses. Darksiders have very decent combat and a lot of puzzle/exploration, and should get more varied later on, while Bayonetta have incredible, though downright surreal, combat, but little else to it, and some loading issues on PS3 (though so far I've not encountered any in-level slowdown or a load above 3 seconds). Storywise they are both action-fantasy epics, though Darksiders story is much easier to follow, while Bayonetta's make little sense so far. Their graphics are roughly equal, and both art designs are quite unique.

If it's on Xbox360, I'd label Bayonetta the clear winner, but based on what I've seen so far, it also wins out on PS3, though less so due to the inferior port. Just know that some people on the net seem to experience excruciating load times with it, though so far I've seen little of them.
