This is the escapist. You want war, terrorism, and hard news? Go troll the cnn forums.
Excuse me? Who the fuck are you calling a troll?
I just think it's a bit silly to demand serious news from a website that, by it's very name, is dedicated to the notion of escapism.
Therefore I must be a troll, I see. Thanks for pointing that out though, I hadn't quite absorbed the message after a couple of years.

... Why must they diagnose someone who was WRITTEN TO BE A CERTAIN WAY, therefore, maybe they should instead analyze George Fucking Lucas.
This this oh god this. If Vader has issues, it's only because even watching the prequel trilogy would be enough to initiate the onset of mental illness, let alone actually being in said movies.

...Well of course. And I suppose the Joker is manic-depressive? And let's not forget Norman Osborn's schizophrenia, or Lex Luthor's obsessive-compulsive disorder.
I'd say that the Joker is more schizophrenic than Norman Osborn. The Joker reinvents his personality every day.
Actually, you're thinking of dissociative identity disorder; the creation of one or more fantasy personalities which each in turn become the dominant personality occupying the affected person. Paranoid Schizophrenia involves the presence of other personalities within the afflicted's mind, similar to DID: the difference is that all of these personalities remain inside the person's mind. He speaks to them, they do not speak to other people; they only affect his actions from within. Hence, I would say that the Joker would be more D.I.D. than schizophrenic.

Sorry about that. I know most people don't care, and that it's a common mistake, but I'm a little OCD. My mother works in behavioral psychology and it really bums me out that no one in the general public can ever really seem to tell the difference. It shows just how misinformed most people really are thanks to Hollywood.

Well, you learn something new every day. Thanks for clearing that one up.

Just... why?
This is something that gets publicity as you can see by the forum made by it and it helps raise awareness. I don't see why everyone is acting like this is stupidest thing ever. They could of just been watching star wars and one of them went "Oh shit i just noticed he has symptoms of abandonment!" They're trained to notice these things anyways...

This is not news. War is news. Terrorism is news. Miracles are news. This is a bunch of 'professionals' diagnosing a fictional persona.
This is a gaming website. We don't do 'real life'

Oh goody another one. It's good to keep getting reminders from people who haven't been here as long as me, it really is.
I meant news by anyone's standards, not from The Escapist's fucking standards.

They have to diagnose movies?
They're psychologists, of course they have nothing better to do with their time.

Actually, he has about 150 more posts than you do, leaving me with the assumption that, while he may not have been a member as long as you, he is more involved with the forum than you are.

Assumption incorrect. I don't feel the need to post in every thread I visit and I'm not desperate to get it higher. Not saying he is, but I don't care that much about posting as much as possible. Besides, look at the post count all you want but I've been visiting this place pretty much daily for a year longer, so.

Why are you complaining then? If you admit that the Escapist's standards are different to 'real life', then surely what comes up on the Escapist as news will not be the same a 'real news'

Also, try not to swear at random people. I almost thought you were trying to offend me

No no no, I meant news by anyone's standards. By that, I meant it encompasses The Escapist as well, rather than focusing solely on them.
And thanks for the life tip, I'm sure I'll put it to use.

HAHAHAHA oh man this is awesome
I did a project last year about Borderline Personality Disorder
compared to the other psychological diseases, this one was the most vague
my group and I looked at each other after reading the description and one of them was like "this just sounds like an excuse to be a jerk"

...wow...really?

Although, what maybe more sad is that I think Vader is the bottom of the totem pole.
They could have found a better villain with a much cooler disorder.
