Thank GOD its Jason. Now we can put the "Joker is Jason Todd" thing to rest.

Unless WB really wants to fuck with us...

Except Jason Todd being killed by the Joker and coming back to life to try to kill the Joker is absolutely in the comics. It wouldn't be a big stretch to have him become the new Joker after killing him, since he came back as a villain with some serious mental issues. Makes as much sense as Lex Jr.

However was there ever really debate as to who the dead Robin was? I thought that was a foregone conclusion.

Considering they seem to have started the DCEU with The Dark Knight Returns as a jumping off point, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out this Joker is actually Dick Grayson.

Reason being? The Dark Knight Strikes Again. Dick became a nigh-immortal Joker esque character that had a massive healing factor that would let him regenerate from most any injury.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went with this. Warner Bros. seems dead set on using bad ideas for the DCEU, so why not go with one of the most hated comics in Batman's history and sequel to one of his most overrated comics. Much as I hate using that word, I can't help but think it whenever someone uses TDKR as absolute proof Batman always beats Superman in a fight despite this almost never actually happening in-canon.

Actually Batman and Superman are about 50/50 when they fight, and while TDKR is somewhat overrated I would have been much happier if they had stuck closer to that story rather than ending up with the.... thing they did.

Are you sure about that? My count was Superman had a pretty heavy lead over Batman, and most of Batman's wins were getting the fight to STOP, not getting Superman to concede the fight or stop fighting because he couldn't.

Also worth noting Todd came back as the Red Hood, an alias previously used by the Joker. It's not exactly the same, but it's not like it's completely without precedent.

Yeah, leave it to Goyer and Snyder to kill off the main villains of both Superman AND Batman off screen before the DCEU even begins. Sounds about par for the course.

It's hard to really get a fair sample because a) one or both are usually not actually trying to kill the other, and b) it all depends of the writer, who's book it is, and who is in the right. But here's a run down of a bunch of them: http://screenrant.com/best-batman-vs-superman-fights-dc-comic-books/?view=all

And to be fair, when Superman wins, he usually wins much more decisively.

I don't think it matters much. I don't trust this moviemaking team no matter what part of DC lore they are either adapting or "inspired by" or whatever. They made 2 movies, the first about the most iconic superhero in the world and in the second that same hero fights the world's (and movie world's) most popular superhero.

How someone could make those 2 movies so unwatchable is a real mystery to me. I don't think I could have made them so bad if I was TRYING to fail. So could they screw up the "Jason Todd's death" storyline?

Well, diplomatically I could say, "We shouldn't rule out that possibility."

That's the genius of Goyer and Snyder. Most comic book movies are satisfied to simply kill off their villains at the end. They are bleeding edge!

But...but...but...but what about the Arkham Knight?! When is he going to show up in the movies?

The answer: hopefully never, stretch-nuts. *slaps himself for such a stupid question*

Yes they are certainly the bleeding edge... of a festering hemorrhoid.

It would be neat if Leto's Joker escapes at the end of Suicide Squad but is confronted and killed by the proper Joker.

Maybe they're just setting themselves up for one of those lame adventures they used to have in the comics, where the heroes would go to see God and he'd literally be the writer of the story. Only instead of a God, Goyer and Snyder are the in-universe super hero A-Team, defeating all the real villains while Batman and Superman slum it up and fight the B Listers.

If the rumors are true, maybe that's why Darkseid isn't going to be the villain of the Justice League movie - Bats, Sups, and Wonder Woman will be pissing around with lieutenants while the Snyder/Goyer inserts will be dealing with the really big fish.

The hemorrhoid actually dying offscreen after Man of Steel, being replaced by Reverse Flash.

Or maybe that's why Batman and Superman are so awful. They're creator stand-ins.

BVS actually makes a lot more sense when filtered through the lens of two eight year olds arguing over which of their favourites would win.

That's always been my assumption, given the way these movies are "mature" in the same way slamming a barbie doll and a GI Joe together is "mature."

Mark Hamill is the Trickster in live action DC, I'm afraid.

Doesn't matter. In their infinite wisdom WB/DC says that TV and movie universes are completely separate. Actually if that does give us Hamill as the live action Joker then maybe that will be the first smart thing they've done so far.
