Tasteless and idiotic as all hell. I'm not certain about whether or not it's misogynistic, but I am definitely sure it's the former two.
That's actually basically the opposite of what it's doing. It's obviously not meant to titillate, it's meant to shock and disgust. Which it does, hence why people are getting so het up about it. It's taking your usual sexy imagery and parodying it by making it er... un-sexy.maninahat said:It's objectifying taken to it's most extreme

Yeah, that's plate of severed rubber dicks right there. But there's no titties, so of course nobody's offended.
I explained she walked into the wrong room. People that are old enough to buy it have no reason to explain things like that. I am not explaining why i own it just as i do not explain i own and read yaoi , have a poster of a halfnude girl getting groped by another girl (shirow masamune poster) or the alchemy gothic poster where a women is standing in front of a mirror that only shows her skeleton.Randlesman said:I would never even consider owning such a thing , imagine trying to explain or justify that to your Grandmother if she ever seen it!
Just because I may be old enough to purchase something like that doesn't mean I don't have to justify said purchase. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of my family wouldn't appeciate seeing a bloody, mutilated corpse sitting atop my desk everytime they came in to my room.D Moness said:I explained she walked into the wrong room. If i like it i would buy it. If someone else can not deal with my taste it is their problem not mine.Randlesman said:Just because I may be old enough to purchase something like that doesn't mean I don't have to justify said purchase. Sure, if you live alone or with people that aren't offended by the things you own, that's fine, otherwise that's a very selfish stance to take. When I buy things I have to take into account I have younger siblings, it's not exactly appropriate for my to own things like "a poster of a halfnude girl getting groped by another girl" when I live under the same roof as my very young sister, is it?D Moness said:If i like it i would buy it. I do not have to justify my own taste to anyone but myself.
You, sir, win the thread. *salute*Rawne1980 said:That is just downright disgraceful.
That is the most disturbing thing i've ever seen.
I mean, what woman in her right mind would wear a Union Jack bikini?
I know us English folk usually feel like tits but come on.
It's just a small point, but some people do seem to like softcore mixed with violence. Notice how Pirana 3D got a sequel (called Pirana 3DD, in case the point wasn't clear enough).triggrhappy94 said:I don't like softcore mixed with violence. When I want to play games, I'll play games. And a lot of people's sexual prejudices guide what they buy. We're not arguing so much that the company is sexist (although it is), but more that that object itself reflects a deep-seated misogyny.Random berk said:They sell what people buy, not what their own sexual preudices demnd.
No it isn't. Look;peruvianskys said:Get it through your heads, people: the stylized, titillating depiction of a violently dismembered woman, tits intact, is the definition of misogyny.
I am not stalking you i promise >.<MetalMagpie said:It's just a small point, but some people do seem to like softcore mixed with violence. Notice how Pirana 3D got a sequel (called Pirana 3DD, in case the point wasn't clear enough).
Personally, not my thing. But the statue is quite fun in a B-movie horror sort of way.
