Dead Space 2 Co-op Multiplayer Skips Deathmatch for Objectives

I reckon this has the ability of taking the L4D formula and working a bit better. Dead Space is alot more tense and as people before have said, you cant really hide in a corner in Dead Space.

It's good to see the Dev's being sensable about their multiplayer rather than just deathmatchs. And for people who are going to say "OMG L4D DID THIS ALREADY!!!1!", if it was a generic deathmatch/ctf/whatever then a hundred other games have already done it.

The trailer reminds me of Alien Swarm too, another brilliant multiplayer game.

Guess i'll be the first to say this: SINGULARITY, in space :D

the multiplayer in that game, was dudes vs monsters, where the humans had to fight together to destroy differnt things, and the monsters had to stop them... this is just about the same :D

Even though I and, well... Everyone else gets the immediate feeling of L4D, I must say W00T! I really enjoy games like these. Hopefully it'll be as fun as it looks!

fucks sake.. why do all games now feel the need for multiplayer? Bioshock, Assassins Creed and now this? come on.. it's not necessary, it'll descend to the level of horse shit you get in AvP, a chain of people just doing kill moves, whilst the time limit suggest the horrible Bioshock 2 gametype where you have to capture the sister - 90% of the time the defenders (necros in this case) will win simply because all they have to do is slow down the attackers.

maybe I'm just prejudiced by my general loathing of multiplayer in anything.. and my feeling that a sequel to Dead Space is completely unnecessary, as the last one had a pretty final ending, reeks of milking the franchise for all it's worth to me..

Looks pretty fun, yet another reason for me to get Dead Space 2. Also, L4d anyone?

Okay, im not one to be a little pansy about these sort of things, But child necromorphs? A little overkill.

...But there were babies in Dead Space 1 to begin with....?
Hmm, I thought those things were dogs.
Why would there be dogs on the Ishimura in the first place and
I am personally excited by the thought of multiplayer, I just hope it doesn't effect the main story such as it being shortened down.
I'm glad that now I'll be able to play something that even slightly resembles Left 4 dead.

Personally everything is fucking sweet except a TIME limit. I hate that kind of dogshit. I wish they would disable it.
We have only seen a little bit of the multiplayer, the time limit might just be for that and probably a few other levels imparticular(hopefully).

So it's spacey L4D. Sigh, are you seriously fucking telling me they can't be more creative than to create one that vomits acid? Really?!

Not original but I can see it being a lot more tense seeing as the Necromorphs are vicious little buggers.

It's better than shoveling in a useless deathmatch mode that will be played for about a week or two and then will die out just like every other game that doesn't need multiplayer. And besides, just because it looks like a mixture of Alien Swarm and Left 4 Dead doesn't make it bad... it could have the potential to be a lot of fun. And after I beat Dead Space, I haven't touched it so it's trying to have a little bit of extra replay value. I'm trying to be optimistic...

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else to an extent, this does look a lot like Left 4 Dead Space, but I'd rather that than more deathmatch modes, which are getting rather played-out now...
Still, it looks like it could shape up to be a good game. Left 4 Dead was great, so maybe this could be good too, especially because the multiplayer is a secondary focus to story, which is a refreshing change from some games recently.

IN SPAAAAAAAAAAACE!

But hey, any multiplayer that's more than "ZOMG KILL DEM!" is good by me.
You took the words right out my mouth. It is good to see that they are trying not to go Deathmatch between humans.
Allow me to be the third person to agree. Looks awesome, can't wait for 2011!

Hah. just like everyone else, i too believe that this is like L4D. But there is nothing wrong with that. I loved l4d's campaign based multiplayer as opposed to modern warfare...

I am much better at co-op than at competitive multiplayer, and I'm too cheap to get L4D until it's on sale, so getting L4D IIIINNNNN SPPAAAAAAAAAAACCCCEE is great for me.

Definitely going to pick this up. Dead Space was the first survival horror game I've played and it's a great game to get into the genre. Looking forward to Dead Space 2.

Yeah, kids well being is obviously your first priority :p

OT: Definately looks a lot like L4D.
