Really good. Considering that this time to story felt like a full one, and the whole 15 chapters were of good length. It was alot less repetative than the first game and overall, an awesome example of how a good sequel is.

Multiplayer is fast paced with matches of 2 rounds lasting no more than 4-5 minutes each and unlocks as you level up was an interesting addition to the game. However, with all that badass equipment, dead space 2 has sorta turned Isaac Clarke the simple engineer fighting for his life with things he had into Isaac Stark, the Iron Man of 'The Sprawl'. Not complaining after all, see what the resident evil series did with Resident evil 4 and 5.

I had a blast playing this game and damn, I LOVE THOSE SUITS!!!

I thought it was pretty mediocre though it did had it's highlights like the Solar array mission it degenerated to a rail shooter at the end.

I would rate it 5/10 (DS1 i would rate 8/10).

Except resident evil 5 wasn't particularly good. I've loved every iteration of the dead space from it's conception. I have the movie, all the games and even the graphic novels ^.^

I just watched Deadspace: Aftermath, the ending, seeing the name Isaac Clarke next to Stross's "new home" made me want to play DeadSpace 2 again :p

It was startling but not scary (maybe I just don't find it scary because I've played Amnesia). I could also usually tell when a fight was coming and from where the Necromorphs would jump out.
Scares: 4.5/10.

The story was really awesome and I didn't expect a lot of what happened. The introduction of speech to Isaac Clarke was beautifully done and what I've heard about the voice acting being mediocre didn't show for me, I thought it was superb.
Story/voices/characters: 9/10.

The enemies were a force to be reckoned with and it got very tense near the end when I kept running out of ammo (I had to switch the difficulty down). The monsters were varied but they didn't use a lot of the new, exciting additions apart from the Puker which was very overused. The Regenerator was terrifying in the first game but just felt clichéd in this. The final boss fight was weird but satisfying and not too difficult. The monsters were fairly terrifying in the way that they would not stop even after having most of their limbs removed.
Enemies: 7.5/10.

Overall (not doing any math, just my overall score) would probably be a good 8.5/10.

I've only payed a bit but so far it's really good.

A gripe I have with these games though is the power node system, never know where I should put them.
And kinesis in this game is actually useful.
Some of the scares at the start are pretty obvious at times though, but still quite effective.
And I just finished the subway part, oh the subway part.
That bit at the end, *shudders*

It wasn't as creepy as the first one was at times, but the gameplay and general story was awesome. I bought it for the creepy factor and finished it for the amazingness that it became. I'd give it a solid 8/10, but only because I expected to not be able to sleep for a few days afterwards.

What a coincidence! That's the same score Gamespot gave it. Wait a minute......

I played it on normal and it took 9 hours to finish. It got really frustrating when about halfway through the difficulty jumped up by at quarter and it felt like I was playing the next difficulty up also thanks to an ammo and health shortage. I'm glad that Issac feels more relatable, not to mention that Elie is a pretty good character too. The new weapons like the Seeker rifle and the Javelin gun are awesome and the Pulse rifle is way more useful with a grenade launcher.

Worth every dollar.

Difficulty jumps like mad.
I destroyed the last boss without taking damage.
But got smashed up by the stalkers every time.

Yes, totally. I didn't mean to give it the same score as Gamespot if that's what you're getting at. Also, I switched to casual because I had like one clip left already loaded into my guns and I was stuck at a part in the Ishimura fighting like 10 Ranked-Up Necromorph's so I thought screw it.

Yeah I think it's more like closer to a difficulty jump of a third. I swear ammo and health drops become less frequent too.

Me and my friend were playing parallel games. Every time one got ahead of the other we'd tell them what to expect ahead. He was more skilled but I was better at finding ammo/health/money. In the end I had no ammo for two of my guns and just ran through the clusterfucks before the final part. Thankfully, I had plenty of ammo for the Seeker which has crazy damage output even when you don't dismember.

I'm doing my second playthrough on normal so I can horde achievements and collect the Elite suits. My friend is going directly to Zealot. More power to him.

It's a fun action game. It's intense. Is it scary? Well... if you've played the first Dead Space, you already know all the "tricks" they play to make you jump in your seat... so it's not scary if you've played the first one. And even if you haven't played the first one, sure the first couple of times a Necromorph pops out at you, it can be a little scary. But that fades away with time. The game has some horrifying creature designs, but again, after seeing hundreds of necromorphs it just doesn't feel scary.

I do have to say that it's a fun game, a great adventure and it's worth your money. EA put a lot of effort into this game, and it shows.

It's just not that scary after the first hour or two. Panic-inducing, yes. Stressful at times? Oh yes. Can it make you jump every now and then? Sure, it can startle you.

But scary? Not really.

I'm replaying on casual to horde items and then going to zealot :)
