EA always seems to cut corners on their games.
Huh? I know they did in the past but wasn't Dead Space counted as one of the biggest and best surprises of 2008?

They've also moved on and doing decent projects and publishing a lot of good stuff.

Deadspace was a project worked mostly outside of EA's administrative interference. Once EA saw they had a possible milking franchise they stepped in and this occurs. Besides, every game they publish has DRM on it. That's not "good stuff".

So you label a game bad because it's got a bit of software that takes about a minute to deal with?

Makes sense.

Damn, doesn't look all that bad to me. I don't think they're so bad it would "break my immersion", as is so popularly said.

What do you mean a minute to deal with? What program do you have that lets you remove any DRM like securom from a game?

Meh... Same shit to me. Even maxed out, the original Dead Space wasn't looking all that great to begin with. Just higher resolution and next-gen effects such as bloom, shaders etc. I don't say that this prequel whatever looks good, I just say "It's to be expected."

"Embrace thy limitations" isn't something most developers understand very well, is it?

It looks like they were trying to push for the same artistic/graphical style as Dead Space, but without the technology to back that up. I saw those guys with the fishbowl helmet things and I'm just thinking: "what the HELL?!".

The Wii's technological limitations when it comes to graphics are no excuse for a game to look terrible. A game can look good without trying to push into the high-end graphics allowed by the more powerful systems by adjusting the art and graphical style accordingly. But expecting a spark of creativity and imagination like that from EA is like trying to find a golden goose egg in a crocodile nest.

I get the impression they're going to murder that newborn franchise in its infancy, and it wasn't that great to begin with. It seems that EA still don't "get it".

I mean deal with during an install. Seriously, it doesn't have the slightest affect on me.

And who knows, it might be one of the cases where it looks much nicer in motion than it does while looking at a screenshot.

Sure, there are numerous flat textures, and it clearly does not look as good as it's older brother on the PS3 and 360, but there's a reason why I go back to play Final Fantasy 6 every now and then:
It's because graphics aren't everything. If the game can deliver a good story and fun gameplay, there's sure to be a fanbase for it.

I've often have games crash on me or fail randomly due to DRM. So I'm a bit paranoid. I paid $80 for Spore's collector's addition, only to have it randomly crash on my computer. Funny thing is, I torrented it off Demonoid and that version worked perfectly. A similar thing happened with Empire Total War.

This is why I'm a firm supporter of Stardock and will buy any game they make. Besides the fact that their games are some of the best I've played, they put no DRM at all on their games. Even CD keys are only needed for multiplayer content.

Thats not DRMs problem. There's a huge list of problems that I won't go into, because i can tell that Emphraim is just dieing to tell you what they are.

Anyway, yes, this game does look hidious. I really don't understand why so many people get away with releasing crap that looks like it's from a early PS2 game.

The Wii is capable so fucking much and no one seems to understand this. Look at Metroid Prime 3 or Mario Galaxy. These are not even games that use "artistic freedom" to make up for the Wii's so called short comings. These are games that you could get away with releasing on the 360. Nintendo can do it, so why not third party developers?!

The Wii is as powerful as the original xbox. You know what was ported to the Xbox? Mother fucking Half-Life 2! That's this generation graphics with a couple of iffy looking patches of dirt. The Wii has the protential to create some great games that look beautiful, but theres maybe 3 games on the Wii that even look remotely good looking.

Call me weird, but those graphics would suffice for me. Maybe because I'm not a total graphics-whore and still believe solid gameplay can make a game worthwhile.

I feel like I'm looking at screenshots from Geist.
And Geist was an ugly game for the Gamecube. Fun but very ugly.
These screen shots are telling me that the developers aren't trying.

To everyone says that gameplay matters more than graphics, well of course it does. However, the graphics shown here clearly could have been better. They obviously put in minimal effort, and if they put minimal effort into the graphics than one can guess that the games other features will have received the same treatment.

For it's own sake, I hope this game's fun.
It's certainly not giving itself much chance of success anyway.

I think it looks better in motion. But once again, we are looking at a Wii title here. Many people will happily remind you that its GPU is not as powerful as the other two consoles. However, people don't buy a Wii to look at pretty graphics: they do it to play games, or to say 'I bought a Wii, and now it's collecting dust!' (Joke) I will probably buy this title when the available funds arive: I've always been a fan of rail shooters, and I liked Dead Space as well.

Don't get me wrong, they could have done better. For example, RE: Darkside Chronicles (which I despise before it's out, you bastards are lucky you're bringing MH3, but still...)

Looks better. But to say this game is as ugly as you lot are claiming, that's just taking the piss, the game looks fine. It hardly looks like Call of Duty 4 Wii, now that's a fucking car crash into a vat of acid.

What the hell did I even come here for? Oh yeah, to say it looks better in motion IMO. Then it ended up like this.

I'm planning to get it as soon as it's out to be honest, I'll be in a new student house come October, and it'll be good times, especially if it's challenging.

I'll be awaiting reviews first: I almost never buy day one out of personal policy. I think it's a good policy to see what the reviews say.
