Two absolute must-buys today:

Mount and Blade Complete (the original game plus Warband, although you really only need the latter) for $9.99.
How is Mount and Blade? From what I've seen it seems like it's kind of like Oblivion with decent combat. Is that close? If so then it's a definite pick up for me.
It's more like Elite on horseback with RPG elements and decent combat.

Sounds cool, I'll pick it up soon.

More on topic, I've acquired Serious Sam ($10) AaaaAAAAaaAAAA A reckless disregard for gravity (about $3 I think) and Blood Bowl ($20).

I can't say for Serious Sam (It's now done downloading) but AaaAAAaAAA A R.D.F.G. was massively entertaining for it's price, and Blood Bowl was fun, but it's very hard for me. Maybe I just need some practice.

I have bought way too much stuff the last couple of days:
Minecraft (not from steam but still, it's awesome!
Super Meat Boy (also pretty fun)
Machinarium (haven't spend a lot of time playing it, but looks fun)
Just Cause 2 (Micheal Bay the game, still love it though)
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (also suprisingly good)
And just for the lolz Metal Gear Solid 3. :D

Sorry I didn't keep up with yesterday's sales. I'm fighting a nice cold, so I've pretty much just been laying in bed watching TV instead of games or posting.

..is placing a link more convenient? Hell, why bother? I cannot log-on to Steam without being slapped in the face with one.

Because I'm rarely closing Steam on my PC, I hardly ever get to see those nags. I assume there are others out there who also leave their PCs running 24/7.

To be honest though, I'm starting to question the necessity of running this thread. Most anyone who is going to buy games on Steam already knows to look for themselves. Things might be different if this place wasn't such a haven for Valve fanboys.

I'll post today's deals later. I think this thread will be a little more relevant if I post the deals a bit after they start so they are a reminder to those who forget to look at the beginning of the day. I actually aimed my last two posts at the 12hr remaining mark.

The reason I'm posting now is because I wanted to give a special nod to this awesome puzzle game that has me addicted.

$1.50

It's a super casual game, but if you are a fan of games like Picross or Sudoku, then then game is for you. Normally, it goes for $10, and though that's a good price for the potential game play hours you can get from this, I think $5 would be a far more fair price (I feel like Steam is turning me into a cheapskate!). Since it isn't even $5, but $1.50, it's pretty much a must-get game as far as I'm concerned.

Hmm, Oblivion's on sale for $10. I have it on 360, but are the mods really all that good for it?

I like the mods for Oblivion because they pretty much fix everything that was blatantly wrong with the game. For example, I have no idea how you were supposed to master Mercantile with vanilla Oblivion. With mods, you can sell one arrow at a time in a stack of a thousand and just use a repeating button macro to get the job done "naturally". Otherwise, you would have to sell over 10,000 times through the course of your game. The interface just was not designed for that. Trying to do so would make you stab a knife through your brain.

So, it's worth it?

I'm going to say yes because you're implying you liked it on the 360, and it can only be better on the PC. Personally, it's only worth $5 to me, not $10, because I feel that Oblivion is a piece of shit compared to Morrowind. Also, I already own the game and its expansions, so dropping $10 to get a digital download version is a bit frivolous.

Super Meat Boy is like £6 at the moment. Do it. Very fun pseudo retro platformer. By pseudo retro, I mean FREAKING HARD! I love it =D.

Meh, I just make more efficient use of my time by using trainers to improve mercantile (and a few other difficult skills).

Not that it even matters, unless mercantile is a primary skill, 'cos you ought to be rolling in the cash regardless.

You only get 5 training levels per level, and you have to find the master trainer. It's far more of a pain in the ass than it should be, especially when you compare it to Morrowind's system.

The less said about this, the better. I could start a whole thread about The Elder Scrolls games and how much I love and hate parts of them.

Empire and Napoleon together for $24.99---and an additional $5 off if you own Medieval 2 or Rome.

If for whatever reason you don't have either of those games they're a steal at that price by themselves. Getting them together? Wow.

I'd be up for sharing my steam I.D. if anyone out there wants to play some Tf2.

I also just downloaded L4D today, I know it's late, and would love some people to play with on that as none of my friends want to fork out £25.
I'm up for some TF2 with you. Just toss me your Steam I.D. in a PM and we can play.
OT: I'd totally get TF2 already since it's $5 I think I might gift it to someone but probably not.

I already own the original stalker and hitman. Everybody has TF2.
Bit of weak offering this day.
Getting the stalker bundle just for stalker:COP is tempting though.
