Dear Capcom... NERF AMATERASU!

Long story short I was playing MvC3 online and just ended up fighting a bunch of fire-disk spammers

eventually I got bored and did some combos as some characters to do a damage comparison

here's the math

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
All the other characters had complex things that were hard to pull off...
Ammy, Mash "Heavy" 5 times, Jump in air, mash 3 more times, use special
over half your health gone from a combo a 5 year old could figure out in 10 minutes or less

Amaterasu has some incredibly difficult weapon swap combos that are way harder than anything Wolverine or Wesker have. Amaterasu's only slight imbalance is how freakin' tiny her hitbox is. Half the projectiles in the game go right over her head as she dashes in with cM.

Yeah, she has that one ridiculous combo, but if you are any good, you can repel it almost all of the time. And then, the ammy player will realize that he needs to learn more combos....And most of Ammy's other good combos are apparently REALLY hard to pull off.

I used to use her as my main fighter (alongside Dante and Zero), but when my friends learned to stop my disk spam, and then murder my ammy right quick, I realized I was screwed. So now I've phased her out of my team (with much regret. I like her as a character a LOT), and I'm looking for another one. Dormamu interests me, but I CANNOT freakin control the battlefield with him like I'm supposed to.

Screw Frank West: I want Frank Castle. Am I the only one who thinks he would make a great parallel for Chris? Well honestly he would likely be a pallet-swap...BUT STILL

I don't play MvC online and I hated using Amma. Needless to say, I never figured that combo out.

By the math you showed here, Wesker is more broken, he does more damage in less hits, and hell Chris can do a lot more if he gets two combos in.
Really I think the fact that Ammy is so much smaller than everyone else is why she is kinda OP.
But then again I am pretty terrible at the game so what I just said may not really matter.

the only thing taht pisses me off about Ammy is that she's so low to the ground not a lot of projectiles can hit.

The combo is annoying, but I think Dante is much much worse. He has an answer for everything. EVERYTHING. And one of those answers usuallyleads into a long, drawn-out, annoying combo. It's not even the damage that bothers me, because it's not that much. It's that it takes forever for him to get on with it...

See, that's why I don't play fighters online. You get good enough on your own to beat the CPU on the hardest difficulty but if you go online there's just a ton of move-spammers. Really, with the amount of attack-whoring they do you'd think there's a cash prize for winning.

You just have to learn to block it, though I find Ammy can be extremely obnoxious too online when lag is factored in. I think her size is just an advantage they gave to her character, but I wouldn't call her OP because of it.

The method they used to "balance" Sentinel was a health nerf that shaved off about a third of his health. They still didn't do anything about his damage though.

Less hits is more damage per hit, it's the reason doing "MMS" in the air during a combo lets it total at more damage then doing "LLMMS"

This is why I don't like playing anything but co-op online. It's a game, people. Your life does not depend on winning, so stop acting like it does 'fore I pop you one.

Anyway, just because Ammy has easier combos, that makes her broken? Captain America with his infinite combo is broken, not Ammy. (I realize that C. America's infinite was patched out. Still...)

Play Melee. You wanted balance? Ok, to be fair, there's definitely a tier, but it's always a toss up between 10 or so of the characters.
