This is all done to generate pre-orders... pre-orders are the bread and butter of the industry now. No one wants to risk printing and shipping too many or not enough copies of their game now, so they need to know exactly how much of a success it will be before it comes out. If the numbers aren't to their liking, the spin campaign begins, and the media will reach most of those people who don't frequent internet forums or gaming TV shows.

This is the new business model folks, get used to it.

It's not about reviews it's about spoilers. Reviews are totally are a separate issue.
