Canon doesn't work that way in comics. All Star Superman was a possible lead up to the DC 1,000,000 storyline written also by Grant Morrison. Being set in a different continuity or timeline does not invalidate something from being Canon or not. That's a fan invention.Baron_BJ said:

As a big DBZ fan I always thought Goku would win without breaking a sweat, but the character summary at the start already made me like Superman more then I did before. Always assumed he was a boring character.

This was truly a great episode. Yeah, some of the stuff about Goku was a bit off, but in the end, Goku's power is really, really hard to quantify. You can't really blame Death Battle for getting some stuff wrong, Dragonball Z is REALLY inconsistent with how power levels work (lest we forget, Krillin was able to hurt Super Saiyan Goku with a simple rock in a filler episode pre-Cell Games).
And really, Superman is basically the DEFINITION of "overpowered".
And to everyone thinking that Goku's martial arts training gives him the edge, let's not forget one simple fact: Superman was trained by Batman. Yeah.

2. It's non-canon, but what is canon with regards to super hero comics? They make use of a multiverse, so the question then becomes "from which universe is this Superman from?" The answer to that question for this sort of crap is the Primary universe where the comics are written because if people are fans of the character then that's the character that has probably gotten them on board and has all the written material about them (except for cartoons/movies). Things that are non-canon are essentially just classed as being in another universe. Can you extrapolate details from those other universes about the characters potential or something like that? Of course, but only if it's the same actual character, if their genealogy or abilities are different then it's obviously not the same.

For this sort of crap you have to assume they mean the main universe versions of the characters because that's the one people care about, if you decide to mix and match random abilities that the character might have in alternate universes then you end up with someone that is not only not the actual nor an accurate representation of their capabilities, but you end up making this sort of crap even more meaningless and stupid than it already is.
I have question, why Goku? He isn't the most powerful character in DBZ (Yeah, I'm not taking GT into account, because it was shit, and completely unnecessary) Vegito is supposedly the most powerful character, and Gohan is supposed to be the most powerful non-fused good guy... also what about Buu? I think Kid Buu vs Superman would have been way more interesting.

Two reasons, I would assume. First, because Goku is iconic. Second, because by the end of Z I believe he's back to being the most powerful non-fused character (both because he trained between the end of the Buu arc and the end of Z, and because there were some power up shenanigans when he and Vegeta defused) though it's debatable if Vegeta could be tied with him still at this point.Lazy-Man said:
