I'm a fan of deathcore, listen to Despised Icon, a couple good songs off the top of my head are Tears of the Blameless, MVP, Fainted Blue Ornaments, and Furtive Monologue.

Black Dahlia Murder is also awesome, check out Deathmask Divine by them, Nocturnal, and What A Horrible Night To Have A Curse (their demo is called What A Terrible Night To Have A Curse, I mean for you to listen to that song).

Veil of Maya is the bomb too, Crawl Back and It's Not Safe To Swim Today will rip your face off. They're super melodic in their instrumentals as well, and you may like them, or parts of them, even if you're not usually into hardcore music.

Deathcore is kind of tough to describe as a subgenre, but those three bands IMO are some of the greatest in that subgenre
Have you listened to TBDM's new album? My favorite song off the album is I Will Return.

I have! The whole album is awesome but I Will Return is probably my favourite as well, but just like Nocturnal, I have too many songs to like off of it.

I dont understand all the -core hate. They are just other music genres. Some like them, some dont. I personally like bands such as killswitch engage which are branded metalcore by some.
The -core hate makes me sad sometimes. I think the bands that fight into the mathcore genre are the best, like Dillinger Escape Plan, Rolo Tomassi, Architects, Protest the Hero and even some Converge.

Edit: Really, the only deathcore band I actually like is As Blood Runs Black. Others just never do it for me.

I have to listen to at least one of their albums every day.

I generally don't get into stuff with -core on the end of it, although I can blast the absolute worst diarrhea lyrics Death metal all fucking day, and I thoroughly enjoy Black, so what the fuck do I know about what sounds good?

Although, I can get the fuck down to this:

Deathcore is shit. Death metal on it's own is fairly unbearable, but mixed with metalcore it just makes me want to dig things into my eyeballs.
Oh Madbird, how could you say that about one of my favourite music genres - Melodic Death Metal. :(
To be fair, I'm not the biggest death metal fan either, but bands like Insomniac are awesome!

And deathcore is like any other genre in that it has good bands and bad bands. Depends what you consider "deathcore" as well.
No wonder I dont remember saying that, its over a year old. Still true but whoever brought this thread back to life really needs to hide from the banhammer... we shall see what happens.
Oh wow, I didn't even notice! And according to dates it's Ida Wave.

I usually treat any music genre with 'core' tacked on the end with suspicion. There are a few bands that are good (Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive and Rolo Tomassi are all pretty good), but mostly it's fairly atrocious. Mind you, I don't like death metal much either. Hell, I love metal, but so much of it is ear-rape. I personally believe that any band whose vocalist needs subtitles is doing something wrong.

I'm quite a fan of a few -core genres, with Chelsea Grin being one of my favorites.

I don't mind metal, but I can't stand the "Screamer" metal. And actually, I'm not a fan of most speed metal, I guess the kind that I like is what they call "Sludge" metal.

You too huh? Well Death Metal and MELODIC Death metal are slightly different. Melodic Black metal has more melody, i.e Orchestra music, Piano's, Cellos's, whatnot, and that is why I like Melodic etc. Although I prefer the Black metal kind.
Umm. I'm not 100% on this, but isn't Melodic Death Metal with the harmonic guitars (see In Flames, pioneers of the genre, considerably lacking in orchestral work.) I think you're referring to Symphonic Death Metal (they should really prune the metal tree, it's getting a few too many off-shoots). Just though I'd say XD
I don't believe so, I believe that Dimmu Borgir is one of the spawns of Melodic Black Metal, and InFlames is some other genre.
Carcass - Heartwork was the album that coined the term melodic death metal.

Anything that ends in core sucks hard (though I will give 90s hardcore a pass).
