This entire blurb was unnecessary. First off, none of the straight people I know consider homosexuality to be gross. Second, when I said CP was "gross" I meant it the same way that you did - that it's a violation of children and is therefore despicable. I'm sorry my word choice wasn't clear, I didn't think it was necessary to clarify that.

Finally, I'm completely aware that drawing manga of a crime is not the same as actually committing that crime. Everything you explained in that condescending paragraph are things I already know and agree with. But drawings still express an idea, and in the case of CP, it's an idea that I don't want to have to look at. Just as you defend a person's right to depict such things through drawing, I support a person's right to not be exposed to that if they don't want to be - and thus my not wanting to be on 4chan.

As for your little political schpeel at the end there - I said absolutely nothing about political standing. You were the one that injected that into the conversation, and frankly I don't see it's relevance.

Since the beginning of our exchange you've been intentionally misinterpreting me and putting words in my mouth. It's very obnoxious.

I was a 4chan regular for years. Started out as a /b/tard, graduated to /v/irgin and /co/mrade status during the time of the great raids, and spent all of my later (and best!) days as a fa/tg/uy, while moonlighting as a /mu/tant and occasionally visiting my old haunts at /v/ and /co/.

I've had some genuinely great times there, but at some point it just became time to move on. Can't say I really miss it now. The permaban has been a nice excuse to not go there anymore even though ban evasion is pathetically easy.

It's basically where people go to try to make the most "inappropriate" shit possible because they can.

And what, pray tell, is wrong with that? It's not like it's doing anything important, and they don't seem to think it is. Just because something is done for the sake of doing it doesn't automatically make it bad. Typically the things that are bad because they are done for the sake of it are the things that hurt other people, like, oh, I dunno...... punching a bunch of old ladies in the face. Perhaps, if they had assaulted your person with some kind of weapon prior to the face-punching, the judge would let you go with a slap on the wrist, but if, when asked why you did it, you said "I dunno", you'd probably be locked away for a while. On the other hand, if you drew a giant dick on the wall of your living room (YOUR living room, not your parent's or landlord's) and you had no forthcoming reason, nobody could penalize you for it in any substantial way because A) There are no rules against it and B) It's your fucking living room.

It's just a collection of two types of people:

1) Teens who feel like they don't fit in to normal society, so they do the most bizarre things they can think of to escape from it.

Admittedly, some of the stuff they do/have done on there is kind of funny (/v/ isn't actually so bad; they aren't like the people on the other channels), but there's way too much disturbing/weird/unfunny crap to sift through to get to it.

Yeah I've been to it. Collected a number of funny pics too. I've also seen the progress of some small-time raids, I'd be lieing if I said I didn't find the habbo hotel raids a little amusing...

Habbo is the definition of 'serious business', I think they merited the raids for sheer humourlessness.

You need a thick skin to post long term in 4chan. Some of the stuff is just in terrible taste.
