I just need my insomnia to go away, for me to sleep.
I may be able to help you. You see there's this club I go to, but the first rule is "You're not supposed to talk about it. The second rule is that you're not supposed to talk about it...." Big hug from old ***** tits for reference.
Fight Club.
Yay.
Hug for me.

I have a habit of falling asleep while listening to my ipod which means I usually have little time to charge it when I get up to go to work in the morning.
Put it on a sleep timer. Works for me.

OT, I can't got to sleep without headphones blaring music. The darkness prompts production of sleepy brain chemicals, while the music keeps me awake until the chemicals build up to a point where I just pass out and fall into a really deep sleep.

I don't NEED any music to fall asleep, but it doesn't hurt either. If I find myself really wound up but I need to go to sleep, I usually put on some Pink Floyd or Radiohead. It doesn't put me to sleep (the music is just far too awesome), but it makes me relaxed enough so that I can fall asleep once the music ends.

I'm gonna have to say that listening to music while trying to fall asleep just ends up making me sad or overly happy! THEN I NEVER GET ANY SLEEP.... at least till my brain dumps out the music tracks

This is based off the recent "Sleeping" thread. How many of you Escapists need your iPod to sleep?

I find this quite disturbing that some people need their iPod to fall asleep. People are so dependent on technology....

Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go to sleep.
It isnt a dependance on technology, it is a sleeping disorder.
It is really bad for you listening to music while falling asleep.

When I'm tired I sleep, when I'm not I don't.
I do find it easier to get to sleep with my TV on, though, it turns itself off by timer.

I don't need it but when I'm not tired and in bed I'll just put on some In Flames or Neurosis and fall asleep pretty fast, it does help but i don't ABSOLUTELY need it, in fact, it just disturbs me most of the time. Which is why in flabbergasts me to no end how the hell my sister sleeps blasting that rap crap at full volume, even sleeping in the same room as her it bothered me cause it was so loud, i hope she goes deaf.

I want another option. Sometimes does fall asleep with an Ipod on, but sometimes doesn't.I (most of the time) have to read, play a video game on the DS, or listen to music, but they all have the same effect on me. They make me calm, relaxed, and then I'm ready to drift off to sleep.

I don't need no fucking sissy IPod to fall asleep... No way...

Buuut, I do need my fan on in order to sleep. It soothes me, and makes me purr like a walrus.

The only noise I need to sleep is the cat loudly proclaiming she's hungry (whilst stood on my chest), it's freakin' audio pentazamin.

I can use my ipod to make me drowsy, but I can't actually sleep with it. However, I could swear that I took my headphones out last night, but when I woke up this morning, they were back o.0 ...

EDIT: Woohoo! 500th post!

I lived in student halls last year so its now impossible for me to go to sleep in complete silence and darkness. So i put my laptop speakers on low with some within temptation and then glow from the little lights on my speakers and hard drive send me right off.

I don't need anything to go to sleep, it's just that music; regardless of whether it's from an iPod or not, helps me drift off at night.

I dont need my iPod to sleep, but I have gotten into this UNBREAKABLE ritual where i have to turn on my stereo, playing Phobia by Breaking Benjamin, and I have to have the volume just barely above mute. its not that im obsessed with the band or absolutely love them, its just that its turned into this OCD ritual thing and i cant sleep without it
