I meant BF3 a.k.a. Battlefield 3 but it might as well be Battle Warfare 3 because Modern Warfare and Battlefield 3 are pretty much equals at doing repetitive manipulative crap that makes you feel like you're doing something that has actual value.Buretsu said:Battle Warfare 3, I would imagine...way2sl0w said:First, what's BW3?
Uhh... okay, first off, Skyrim, Bastion and Arkham City all reward you with slightly better weapons and slight improvements to your character.Epyc Wyn said:... manipulates you into thinking you're having fun because its rewards you with very slight things like a slightly better gun or a slightly better character. This is why they sell so many copies.
Why is leveling up and getting new gear in MW3 and BF3 manipulative when leveling up and getting new gear in Skyrim isn't?Epyc Wyn said:I meant BF3 a.k.a. I'm not sure if you've actually played Battlefield 3, because BF3 is actually a genuine fun experience. Besides the "crap that makes you feel like you're doing something that has actual value." could easily be applied to any other games out there, even Bastion. It's all down to each and everyone's personal taste and opinion.Epyc Wyn said:I meant BF3 a.k.a. Sigh... While I could point out a big flaw in your opening arguement about the sequels, I will leave that to everyone else who begrudgingly replies to this thread.Epyc Wyn said:Worst 2011 games: MW3, BW3, 2D fighting crossovers, Dark of the Moon, Duke Nukem Forever. Best 2011 games: Portal 2, Littlebigplanet 2, Skyrim, Arkham City, Bastion. All of these games (besides Duke Nukem) are worth playing and sold very well. The bad games were all repetitive and manipulative. The good games were all ORIGINAL ideas or did something that was different. They sold millions of copies as well as the bad games. What I ask you: why are we buying millions of copies of the crap AND the original games? Answer: the crap is addictive and manipulates you into thinking you're having fun because its rewards you with very slight things like a slightly better gun or a slightly better character. This is why they sell so many copies. The good games keep you interested in the game with, you'll never guess it, THE ACTUAL FREAKING GAME! They are all new, different kinds of games with awesome visuals and truly make you feel like this was worth your time because they entertain you with things that you're SUPPOSED to be entertained with. Back to the question of HOW DO WE FIX THIS ****! I don't know. How do we fix this failure to have a good balance of good games and good sales because the bad games and the good games both have equal sales? HOW?

Because unlike Modern Warfare 3, when you hit level 80 and prestige, it doesn't make you earn back all of your stuff. For both games in general, Skyrim has better looking gear that has more applicable uses and makes leveling up an important part of becoming stronger and advancing an ACTUAL PLOT where in MW3 you can get killed with ease even at level 80 by a level 23 character. I do however, see the flaw in my statement because Skyrim does have you doing a lot of the manipulative RPG elements incorporated into MW3 and BF3.Bobic said:Why is leveling up and getting new gear in MW3 and BF3 manipulative when leveling up and getting new gear in Skyrim isn't?Epyc Wyn said:I meant BF3 a.k.a.
