Those would be Preacher and The Vision of Escaflowne, and they're both great. I made a mistake though, the character in Preacher is a reverend, not a priest.

Close xD Harry Dresden in the Dresden Files. The two characters share a lot of similar traits though for sure. The smartass aspect is the one significant difference in my opinion, Potter was just super nice and polite. Dresden.....isn't. xD
