Deus Ex is my favourite game of all time, probably fairly easily to be honest, too. Deus Ex 2: Invisible War was better than it was given credit for I thought, and as a stand alone game, it would have been pretty good. Problem is, it was following on from Deus Ex, which simply did everything better.

The main aspects of DE were deeply woven story lines, free form nature of tackling problems followed with enjoyable enough combat and RPG elements. Deus Ex: IW lacked a bit in the story telling department, and everything felt a bit...odd, to me, though I still enjoyed it.

This new trailer seems to me as if they are going even further away from the original premise. The technology seems to be doing a Star Wars-esque move, where in the allegedly earlier movies (1,2 and 3) had better technology than the later ones (4,5 and 6). Not a huge gripe, but it seems like combat is the main focus. But then again, I suppose it is easier to show off combat than story line.

I will wait and see what comes of this, I've been disappointed far, far too many times by sequel movies or games to get my hopes up too high just yet. I pray it's awesome though.

It looks to be a great game even if some of the mechanics are a little different from those in Deus Ex. I'm psyched that Adam won't be such a sissy in hand-to-hand combat, because that was really my only problem with Deus Ex 1.

whoa man thats for the screens its looking great
cant wait to see more of it

Is looking very good, Never played the first two, my older brother played the first and said it was great so I hope it lives up to them.

I should be able to enjoy it as a stand alone game though which is a good thing.

Trailer looks nice, but I'm still approaching with guarded pessimism after everything that's been said by the developers.

It's an unavoidable result really. The original looked the way it did not only because of the engine but also because Ion Storm didn't account entirely for how much certain things might change - just look at the National Guardsmen in the game. They look like the National Guard out of an 80's movie, with a generic green uniform and no vest. Today in 2010 (a good thirty something years before DX supposedly happens) our Guardsmen use an entirely different camo pattern, have bulletproof vests and so on.

Well, even though I hated the first game, this is looking fairly good. Of course, I'll wait for some real gameplay before I make my judgements, so I don't go and end up wasting my money like I did with the first one.

EDIT: Wait, nearly forgot.
