This game was designed for the 360, the PS3 and PC versions were ported. In fact, the PC version has a 2 GB cap on RAM usage because it WASN'T designed for the PC. There is a mod that allows the game to use 4GB though.

I did get Gamestop to let me trade the PS3 version in for the PC version and let me tell you, the PC version runs so much better but that's probably just because it overpowers the bugs. Nothing justifies them releasing a broken game. If a million people bought the PS3 version, that's $60 million made off the PS3 version. With that kind of money they can fix the damn engine even if it means months of work. They shouldn't leave it hanging they have previous PS3 disasters.

I understand your frustration, but you could just as easily blame the PS3. There are problems on the 360 as well. The PC version doesn't have those issues because TES is a PC game designed to also be played on the 360 and PS3. The truth is nobody except Bethesda knows why there is a 2GB limit. It's not a console setting - there are no consoles with 2GB of memory. The game had to be designed on the 360 from the start. Due to the complexity of the code and they couldn't just do all their programming on the PC and quickly port it to the 360, it was a simultaneous effort I'm sure.

I am glad to hear you got your game exchanged. It sucks that people on consoles get the shaft in Skyrim but that is exactly how PC players feel when we want to play a cool game that was ported from a console and it brings along console specific elements that don't work properly on a PC. It's not right or wrong, it is just the way it is.
