If this game isn't the fucking second coming I will personally throw molotov's at Blizzard's HQ in Paris.
That has got to be the funniest thing i have read this month *drags self off floor*

OT: I can wait a year or two because I need to save up some money, but if they go any longer than that, I will commit hari-kiri.

gaaaahh....sometimes I wish this was all a ruse and Blizzard would go "Hah! Surprise! Diablo 3 will be released tomorrow! Cake for everyone!"

I heard that they will release a content patch for Diablo 2 though :D
Yes, it was supposed to be released in April 2009. But I think it was a typo - and they really meant "April 2011".

...God. I knew it wasn't going to be in 2009 or 2010, but damn. "A Few Years"? Just more reasons to hate World of Warcraft. Also, why the hell did they announce it so early if it may come out in 5 years? I'm a really, really hardcore Diablo fanboy, and even I won't wait for a game that has been coming out for half of my life (I'll be 22 in 5 years, so it would be 14 years of waiting - even more than half).
Hey now, let's be fair.

Blizz's WoW team and D3 team are completely separate. It isn't like working on WoW actively prevents them from working on D3. The D3 team has its own building :p

Yeah, but I doubt that they gave more people to the D3 team than to the WoW team. It's still the same company.

I knew this was coming, either not coming out or "never coming out".

Well hey if any of you are dying to play Diablo 3 there's a great game made by the actual people who made Diablo 1 and 2 on steam, it's called Torchlight. These guys probably saw this coming from a mile away and decided to show Blizzard how it's done because it's great. I suppose the only downside to it is that it's single player only at the moment.

But it has everything and more that Diablo 2 has, runes, gems, a guy in town who might as well be named "Hordric Cube" the music is Diablotastic. It looks like Warcraft plays like Diablo in 3D. If you don't believe me check out the demo, or just get the game for 20 bucks how can ya go wrong?

*cough* Nukem *cough*

See this wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't already teased shots. If publishers are going to get people behind the games, they should only start teasing when the end is in sight.

If they start teasing 4-5 years before it's ready...people are gonna go off the boil before it's ready.

Hell, some of them will have got married and had kids before that time.

Well, now all that's left is that by say the end of 2011/beginning of 2012, Blizzard will announce they're changing the game's engine after reading about how well it worked for Duke Nukem Forever.

My thought on the subject is the same as ever: Diablo 3 will be released in 2012, and shortly afterwards the world will end.

Guess Blizzard can't quite make Diablo work like they used to.

What's next, Starcraft 2 delayed until 2012?

Maybe they should just admit they're the World of Warcraft company now. That was the last game they released, 5 years ago. At this rate, it'll stay that way.

Or alternatively you could already have Wow and have it completely knackered by them foisting the broken and buggy Battlenet login system on us! Its crap it took me four hours to get to page three and then the bloody server reset I hate it!

Oh and OT Diablo 3 better be delivered to my house by trained mink pulling a faberge egg shaped cd case or I will cancel all ties with Blizz and ignore everything they so from now on!

Note the Diablo 3 poster in the back...
And my friend made this around this time in 2008.
(Anyone familiar with sending masses of Dragoons up ramps will notice the door frame issue...Unfortunately for Mr. Dragoon, he was discontinued and replaced.)

For some reason, I'm oddly not surprised.
I'm going with 2011 right now, though it's still too early to guess.

Anything done by Blizzard takes forever. Starcraft, for example, seems further away than Half Life 2: Episode 3.

I'm not surprised. But then again, I've never been the biggest fan of Blizzard games.

Not surprised in the slightest. You see, Blizzard has invented their own special calendar. One year in Blizzard HQ counts as two to the outside world. Or maybe three. Depends on the game being developed. And while some optimistic dudes/gals might believe that Starcraft II will be released next year, I still won't be surprised if they decide to delay it further. Yay for "next few years".
