I'm really surprised they're bringing back the "go to town to sell stuff" every 15 minutes mechanic that I thought they were getting rid of and which torchlight did get rid of. Hell, you could still CHOOSE to go back every 15 minutes if you want to, but at least give us the option to stay in the action. That's definitely not a good change, so hopefully they'll reconsider.

It's also very strange that the game is in beta yet they seem to be basically redoing major parts of the mechanics. But I think they deserve praise for admitting it's not right and fixing it rather than pushing it out the door. I think it's silly to get mad at a company for spending more time (and therefore money) getting the game perfect.

Blizzard has a track record of not releasing games until they are perfect, and I don't care how long D3 takes as long as it's great when it finally does arrive.

You mean they won't release a product until its a perfect clone of previous models which work before?
Please explain.

I can't tell by that are you trying to be condescending to Bioware or Bethesda? Because both get that kind of thing a lot.
I was referring to Bethesda and how Skyrim is a buggy mess (the only reason why I haven't played it yet).
Starcraft - generic RTS with no new innovation
WoW - lineage 2 clone/generic mmo clone with no new innovation
Diablo 2 - slight update on D1, point and click with random loot mechanics. Shoop da woop.

D3- diablo 2 with better graphics?

So basically they don't clone games, they just don't innovate as much as you'd like.

Btw, continuing a popular series is not actually cloning.

Much as I want this game, I'm happy to wait for them to consider it ready. I wish the rest of the industry would adopt the "It'll be ready when it's ready" line instead of caving to shareholders, financial forecasts, retail dates and expectations.

I'd much rather see a finished and polished game come out later than expected, rather than shoved out the door half-naked and missing a shoe, and then being patched every couple of days for the next month!

Besides I'm a Half Life fan, so I'm used to waiting ;)

I just can't find myself to be so excited about a click fest game like diablo 3. By the sounds of it if you have a brain and your not a monkey and especially have lots of money to buy crap at its auction house to make the game even easier you can play diablo 3. Prepare to get ganked by spoiled rich kid who bought his epics off of daddy's credit card.

Diablo takes about as much skill as solitare, just saying. No way do I care about this game.

I never actually said they were bad games. It's just that blizzard doesn't seem to take risks. Which is fine for business I suppose.

I don't mind much actually. I have set up a nice little me, my brother and my cousin so we can wait. It also gives me time to upgrade my 5 year-old pc, not just for D3 but for SC II which is begging to get played, sitting there on my shelf. Poor Jim.

We don't mind waiting. I am gonna get the limited edition for all three of us so we are covered. We are also covered auction house-wise cause we are gonna pick different classes and trade items via the shared stash, so we won't have to use the house AT. ALL. I can already imagine every Friday night for the next 6 months. Yelling at the top of our voices:

HATEMONGER, WATCH OUT FOR THE HATEMONGER! FUCK! BACKOUT, LET ME HEAL YOU!

I never play online WITH my bro and not against him so this is an all new. We are gonna play the crap out of this when it comes out.

Unless the delay means undoing the bullshit "Always Play On Our Servers" nonsense, I'm still not sold on it.

Apart from that, I'm still sitting here wondering what the fuck Blizzard was thinking when they announced Diablo 3 all those years back...

By that logic, Diablo 3 is just a ripoff of Diablo, which is a ripoff of Nethack and Hydlide, the former of which is just a ripoff of Rogue.
All with better graphics, of course.
