I love the game. Even the ending (since I am convinced it's not real and Shepard is indoctrinated).

I was afraid that it wouldn't seem like 'Mass Effect' but I was wrong...only the ending doesn't seem 'Mass Effect' and that's why I don't believe it's real.

Mass Effect 3 is a great game. The problem many people seem to be having is that they were expecting something different/ The Perfect Game, and because the game wasn't what they expected they took the games relatively small flaws and blew them way out of proportion.

As for the ending, I quite enjoyed it. Could it have been executed better, yes; but it was a solid ending. Most of the criticism directed towards it can either be applied with equal validity to previous game endings in the Mass Effect series, or is merely self proclaimed 'fans' complaining about how the ending wasn't what they expected.

I love it. To be honest, if the release a different ending it will probably be one of my favorite games ever. But for now it just ... painful to think about it

I loved every second, start to finish. There's a reason I completed it twice in 5 days (the having no life thing aside, hush).

The only thing I would have liked extra is a Dragon Age: Origins styled epilogue

An incredible game. The ending though, just felt like it came out of nowhere. We didn't learn what the Reapers' constant cryptic bullshitting was all about until the last ten minutes, and then it was like;

"Here's your choices;
-Be a dick, kill all synthetics, including your friends, and maybe live.
-Die and take control of the reapers, making them leave but knowing that eventually it'll all happen again.
-Or Die, but allow Organics and Synthetics to get down and dirty with a bit of bullshit metaphysical jiggery pokery. Oh, and in all three choices, the mass relays will all be destroyed. Have fun!"

This is the guy who ends wars by shouting at people. Christ, my Shepherd has shouted his way into places humans weren't even allowed to be. And you're telling me i have to make a B.S. philosophical choice that was sprung on me in the last ten minutes, and leave me with and ending cinematic that gives absolutely no closure?

Oh god, I think I'm batshit crazy, but I actually didn't mind the endings THAT much, I think I might *gasp* like them to an extent. Like maybe its cause my standards were lowered by -1000000000000%, but I seriously didn't come out of that last mission with the entire game ruined. Maybe its cause I had 5k effective readiness?

I really don't know, the only bit's I didn't like was:

1. How the hell did Garrus get back to the Normandy? There was a reason I took him along all the way through, I figured my whole squad would be wiped out with me.

2. Wtf is up where the Normandy is/ wtf happened to it? It just seems strange, like couldn't they just have it crash on Earth or something?

3. Pretty much no closure regarding what happen's to your decisions/ other characters.

4. How is Shepard still alive in any way possible, I was happy with my shepard going out with a bang

But with that said most of these issues could be fixed with an Epilouge DLC, say you play as one of your squad mates?

Capcha: Poetic Justice, eh I actually like that lol.

My post concerning someone else asking if the game was worth it. Just to clarify, it is. But I still hold hope for a better ending at the end of the month. Click my name at the quote header to go to my original post and the question of the original asker.

Yes, it is absolutely fantastic. Worth £38.99 of the £39.99 I paid for it. Even after completion I'm still playing the multiplayer with friends... but when they start asking me questions...

"So Bvenged, I'm getting close to the ending!..." (expecting me to sweettalk about it).

"You there, Bvenged?"

"Yeah I'm there, cool...
It was good ending, you'll love it."

The game is great and it exceeded my expectations. They've done a great job with the game. The combat has improved a lot and there are many really good scenes in the game, scenes which made me feel emotions that I haven't felt in a while with games. There are also many little things which I like, like the interactions between the characters themselves.
And those are just a few things which i liked about the game. I'm not sure what to think about the ending but the last 15min won't change a great 40+hour experience.
how did you get a 40 hour playthrough? Did you play on insanity? Because I did everything, talked to everyone without subs, and I got 27
I tried to get every war asset by scanning every system, not only those you get by talking to people(because I was hoping it would matter for the ending) and I'm generally a very slow gamer. It took me about a week to beat the game and I played 5-6 hours every day.

I really enjoyed it, I found it an excellent game and I really did like the ending (which may vary depending on how you completed it but I found mine pretty much perfect). The only bits I ever found annoying was the attempt at a shocking heart rending moment with the death of the kid in the opening and the annoying dream sequences.

95% of the game is great. Its just that the last 5 minutes completely screwed up the narrative, threw in new concepts and was confusing. This is not a good ending.

Up till the ending I was willing to give the game a 90% rating (10% off because of sound issues).

Post ending however, I'd reduce it to 70% rating, its still good but a little clumsy in execution.

Anyone else think that Bioware had blown its budget and basically had to slap together an ending to make the deadline? That sounds like a more reasonable explanation, versus an entire studio trolling its customers.

Of course people loved Mass Effect 3. The fact that there is such a fan backlash proves that people loved ME3. Nobody wanted to see such a great series end in such a way so they saved other people from being greatly disappointed.

The ending shouldn't leave things like everything you've fought for throughout 3 games up to the imagination, it should make things like that clear defined and final, that's why it's an ending. That's what we were promised, an amazing definitive ending. What we got was rushed confused excuse for an ending that's riddled with plot holes and continuity errors that blatantly rips off the original Deus Ex and doesn't even bother telling you what your decisions meant for the galaxy.
Why does it have to? Aside from the easy argument of Creators Rights and the lot, everything in the Mass Effect universe has been wrapped up. Every loose end has been tied up by the time the ending sequence happens. Hell, there's a reason everyone's okay with throwing their life away, because it's been a good run and no one really has any regrets.

Plus, in a day and age where games BLATANTLY hold your hand and tell you to do everything, it's nice that a developer has decided to leave out the details, details i'm pretty sure they know but are withholding , and let you fill in the blanks. I had no problem speculating what happened at the end, and I actually find that preferable to having everything wrapped up in a nice little bow. A loose end isn't necessarily the result of bad writing. Hell, its a good place to pick up IF you want to pick the series up again. Not saying Bioware will (can't say the same about EA), but it's food for thought.

Seriously. In an industry where imagination is limited, a game that encourages us to use our own shouldn't be frowned upon.

I didn't... Paragon ftw... :D

Also a lot of people did love ME3, even the haters of the ending (self included) mostly say that the 95-99% of the game is amazing.

No. I just beat it and in general I would say I was disappointed. Less content, less characters, less character DEVELOPMENT and very little in the way of interesting story points, I thought. It was certainly enjoyable, but nowhere near as good as ME2, and I don't think that's just a matter of high expectations, though I certainly had those as well.

Lazy storytelling backed by solid combat. In fact the only thing I DID like about the story was the ending, which people have had problems with. I didn't mind it.

Great game.
Terrible ending.

Holding out because of rumours that the "real" ending is coming. Not getting my hopes up, but it did ease the pain of seeing the pathetic endings.

It's one of my all time favorite games - and I've been playing games since the SNES when I was three. It's absolutely great and despite the lackluster ending (it wasn't THAT bad, just slightly disheartening) and there were several moments where I actually teared up.

Mordin's death was one of them and then the bar in the sky talk with Garrus. That talk was possibly the best dialogue conversation I've EVER had in a game. Made me swell with emotion.

Get it!

Fan artists can make some crazy effed up shit sometimes, other times they can make something really pretty.
