The PS3 has never outsold the 360. And the slim was released on September 1st or thereabouts so it's only been out for one quarter of the market year (Q3 of the financial year). It's own sales have increased yes, by about 1000% but it only outsold the wii and 360 for week 36.

Im not talking about sales per quarter; this month's Edge magazine showed a graph comparing all this gen's console sales on a quarterly basis. The ps3 has been out for 11-12 quarters, and according to said graph, has substantially more sales at this point than the 360 did.

Wait... what!? The PS3 has only rarely outsold the 360 in month-to-month sales, and those have been months with something substantial happening (like MGS4 coming out, or a price drop). If you're talking only about the slim, then no, it hasn't even been out a quarter.

Eh, it'll take it more than just one Christmas to get ahead. The Christmas season has never seen more than four million consoles sold, not even for the Wii.

The fat PS3 rarely/never outsold the 360 on a yearly basis let alone for a months on end. As for the slim, well in time it may sell the 360 and it sure looks to be that way, but Sony will have to really pump out the titles to keep players attached.
