Only in America, in Canada the age of consent is 16 and we have a closeness of age clause

actually not even in every state, they all have different ages of consent. i do believe it was Mississippi that once had it set to 16 unless she wasn't a virgin and then it was 12 or something crazy like that. the funny part was the "if she's not a virgin part" that got me laughing. other than that the laws of consent are a complete mess in the States and i know there's no closeness of age clauses, which is really stupid

Canada's laws are pretty good, tho a bit confusing with the closeness of age part of the law. if i'm not wrong under that part 13 and 15 are legal but 13 is the lowest, so even with closeness of age 12 and 14 or 13 and 11 is illegal.
