Discovering Vtubers has been a great stress relief for me this year

I dunno the view they want to entertain rather than taking the easier route could be seen as restoring some peoples faith. It's possibly about percentages where a number of prominent female streamers were happy to do the bare minimum and live off simps then suddenly in come Vtubers and the perception is "Ah there are people really wanting to play games and entertain still who can also find success."
I mean, there's no difference between vtubers and other female streamers or camgirls.

People on here keep calling me sexist, and yet everyone keeps painting female streamers and cam girls as dumb lazy bimbos, without a single trace of irony. I don't hate vtubers, or real life cam girls. I think that their the same, and the people who criticize one, and promote the other, for appealing to their specific fetishes, are expressing problematic views of women.

I love both groups, because I support sex positivity.

Personally, I'm very much a "whatever makes you happy" type of guy, so it's nice that you found a stress reliever (especially for this year because, holy shit...). I don't really have a problem with vtubers in general either, outside of them being very much in the uncanny valley for me. The lip sync is just...not good, and they also tend to make the default expression an open o-face, which is a little weird. I would actually prefer if they just went to more pronounced mouth flapping when they talked, because even if it doesn't really match up, it could still be funny in a reverse American dub of Godzilla type way.
Might I suggest perhaps Botan?

I don't know if it's just that she has a more advanced rig or something, but her mouth seems to follow what she says more than a lot of other vtubers.

Performance, effort, not yeeting cats

I didn't say all, there are quite a few who are very minimal effort and they're a lot of the prominent ones, ones who get pushed a lot.

How on earth do you know how much effort goes into being a female streamer or camgirl? There are plenty of male streamers who are lazy too. It's kind of a massive field at this point. I can think of multiple talented female streamers off the top of my head. And as for camgirls, have you ever had to construct a dildo cannon? Once you get the rig set up, being a vtuber isn't really that much harder than anything else. You just like pretending that anime waifu's are somehow more creative and talented. It's all about the same, really.

Honestly, being a normal female streamer who does a lot of editing and polishing is way harder then being a vtuber who just uploads their 2 hour stream unedited.

Well based on the fact I have a version of some similar software to them (it came pre-installed) it's more down to the quality of the webcam I think

As evidence I'm not making this up I knocked up a quick character and took a quick picture using the software attempting to wink and some others

yeh but lazy male ones tend not to do so well or be promoted so much lol.

I did also point out some female streamers do try before not just Vtubers but they unfortunately tend to struggle to get traction.

Also no I don't know how hard it is to construct a dildo cannon. Harder or easier than large flat pack furniture?

Well, depends on whether your just ordering it through mail and putting it together, like IKEA, or constructing your own rig. The second is more effective for your needs, but requires some basic understanding of engineering.

In any case, I find it telling that its harder for many female streamers to garner attention without either being boob streamers, or turning themselves into anime waifu's. It;s kind of unfortunate, honestly.

Meanwhile, paige...

"When you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression"

That's called a level playing field.

Are we talking Walmart or IKEA? There's a scale.
Only having done Ikea and some other brands and never doing Walmart I can't say.

Does Walmart actually have the holes properly drilled or do you have to try and drill most of the hole yourself using just a screw and a screwdriver?

By your logic, the "lazy bimbo" boob streamers you guys were mocking must be the most talented, hard working, and charismatic people on the platform. I'm sure that's why people like you watch them. For their, uh... skills and personality.

Yes, that was my argument, that "boob streamers" attract an audience with their boobs. Congratulations, you successfully got the point and communicated it back to me in sarcastic words.

Well, that depends on the dildo. We talking just a cock, or a cock and balls?
For the latter, you need a sabot

No, houseman, that's... not actually my point at all.

My point is that you claim there's a level playing field, and then immediately admit that women have to use sex appeal to garner a large audience, regardless of their skill or charisma. Which male streamers don't have to do.

You said " I find it telling that its harder for many female streamers to garner attention without either being boob streamers, or turning themselves into anime waifu's. "

In which scenarios is it harder for many female streamers to garnet attention?
When they don't turn themselves into anime waifus or boob streamers.

So if they do neither, and if they aren't selling themselves on cuteness or sex appeal, like how men don't, then what is it?
A level playing field.

No, they don't HAVE to. It's just EASIER for them to get a large audience by using sex appeal.
If they don't, then they find that the competition is MUCH steeper, because now they have to use skill or charisma to become more popular than all the other guys who are succeeding based on their skill and charisma.

Get it now?

An aspect that I think I should try to emphasize is that a lot of these women vtubers are very introverted. I'm speaking mostly about Hololive here but the vast majority of their talents are very introverted, two of them are known for having an almost crippling degree of shyness even when interacting with their co-workers.

Having an avatar and character gives confidence to these kinds of people and allows them to put themselves out there in an environment, the internet, that can be very vicious to people. Most of them don't keep this kind of character though as they get more comfortable.

If you want to get an idea of what I mean then look up Mano Aloe and what happened to her after personnel details got leaked.

It's not an even playing field. That's the point. Because they can be as charismatic and talented as the dudes, and not be as big. Which makes sense, I suppose, since the audience for that content skews male.

I mean heck, multiple people on this very thread have admitted that vtubing is viable specifically because women have to deal with harrasment that men don't.
