Not to mention, being controlled by Lex like a fighting game character.
Honestly, it's wild to me to complain about Superman being underpowered in a movie where he recovers from injuries by sitting in sunlight for a few seconds and literally escapes the pull of a blackhole by blowing really hard.
Well, I think it's less about the morals behind the act and more the larger implications, ie "is man I've given a key to my apartment going to go full Homelander/Omniman on the world" (she does back off after his "people were going to die!" exclamation).
Plus, as far as the Justice Gang goes, them saving the day is significant in a dark way, because the main issue behind them and Superman is that the latter is a freelance independent, while the former is owned by a billion dollar corporation. Thus, the only people 'allowed' to affect global policy are large countries and large corporations (it should be noted that Lex selling weapons to the country was known by literally everyone, the thing that foiled him was the land snatch). I hope we'll see consequences from it later on.
EDIT: Also, I quite liked Krypto and was really surprised how crucial to the overall plot he was.
