I apologise- I must have overestimated your monthly wage, your sociability, and your overall partialness to watching entertainment on a large cinema screen in general.
Well, the monthly wage is fairly low, and the price of a cinema ticket is ridiculously high.

As far as sociability goes, I'd prefer to see a film with friends, which means staying at home rather than sitting in a darkened room where we're not supposed to talk to one another.

It's not so much that I don't like the cinema - it's fine on occasion, though more than a couple of times a year and I'd be frothing with rage at the small chair and lack of leg room - but that I don't really see the point of paying top-dollar to see a film I already own.

6 dollars is ridiculously expensive? Hell, if you o to the early bird showing at a cinemark it's only 4.50

Holy shit, that's cheap. According to the currency converter I just checked, 6 dollars is about 3 pounds and 80 pence. The cinema near me charges 9.40 for an adult ticket, with a ticket for a 3D film going up to around 12 pounds. So my ticket would cost (currency coverter again) the equivalent of 14.80 for you.

And people in other parts of the country have told me I get my tickets cheap!

Well there are theater chains around here that charge about that much, but cinemark's prices tend to be pretty cheap (the prices I gave you are the matinee/early birs prices for 2d and 3d, the evening price is $7.50 for an adult ticket. I guess the main thing is that you have to figure out the best time to go to get the best price.

The early prices are A) only a couple of quid cheaper and B) only available when most people are at work, hence the low prices.

I resent having to pay more than I would for a DVD for what is often a lesser experience.

I approve, 3D in general hasn't impressed me and I highly doubt a 3D remake of two movies with...questionable quality...would do all that well, I sure wouldn't watch them.
So yes, focus the extra time, money and people on the new movies, dooooo iiiit. It might be what pushed a good movie into becoming a GREAT movie which WILL earn Disney the Nerd-stamp of approval for all eternity...how can you pass that up!? :-D

Somewhere I am sure George Lucas is throwing a temper tantrum.

Then again, he might be too busy swimming in his money like Scrooge McDuck.
