The best Final Fantasy fighting game is, and always will be, Ehrgeiz. Anything else is simply second rate.
I find it rather sad that there's actually a forum based on what could potentially be a mediocre fighting game, that just cashes in one popular characters from a successful RPG franchise.Wounded Melody said:

I downloaded the Japanese version like a year ago, IT'S FUDGING AWESOME. It's perfectly executed the feel of each character like how Cloud is relatively slow but dishes out huge damage and Zidane being very quick but not hitting as hard. It is no doubt one of the best psp games ever.
My advice to everyone is that you should probably level up Tidus, Squall, Sephiroth or Butz (Bat-zu?) maybe Cloud they are best. Frionel has some amazing ground attacks but in the air he's pretty weak.
I also like how hey have summons you can equip to use when the fight isn't going your way and I like that everyone has a second costume e.g. Cloud has his advent children gear as well as his SOLDIER.
I really like the mechanic of the EX mode that temporarily equips you with your ultimate weapon and lets you use your most powerful limit break from the original game (if the character never had a limit break in the original they just make something up).
Also I love the unlockable characters (Gabranth and Shantotto)

Meh, I'll buy this piece of er bai wo fan service. I#m not expecting much, because Crisis Core destroyed to tiniest fragments of hope I had left for the series, but hell, I just want to see Tidus trying to put the smack down on someone like Ex Death or Golbez. That should be freakin hilarious.

That wasn't even a final fantasy fighting game. That was just a fighting game with FF characters as bonuses. This game stomps Ehrgeiz into dust and is actually well executed. The amount of negativity on this thread with the "it's from square so it must be shit" and "crappy fan service hur hur" is getting annoying. Is it that hard to fathom that it could be fan service done right? Play the game, you'll be surprised.Space Spoons said:
