You know man, when you post "evidence" about something that even r/kotakuinaction largely thinks is bullshit, then I dunno.

I mean, and? She got hired, she lead a team on facial animations...and all of that work got signed off on on at least two/levels. It's not like she didn't have anybody checking her work, it's not like she had no experience in animation.

I mean, Christ, she doesn't even work there anymore. She was a low level team leader that wasn't part of the development team that got cut after the game went gold. Just like dozens of other freelancers or interns. And she rates an attack article on the internet because she's a womz, and something she worked on is wonky as shit, ignoring that bioware's always been wonky as shit in this area.

Anyway if people like being attracted to people they are going to converse with all game then well that's their prerogative.
bioware games have always been about team mates and character driven stories, the gameplay, the main story itself are usually lacking in comparison as far as i've seen.

Did you miss the tizzy media and fans flew into at a developer mentioning that sex scenes amount to what is essentially a softcore space porn? People get attached to these characters and, believe it or not, physical attraction is part of it.

What is strange with Garrus ? He is not that far more off human appereance than those Asari and seems to have an agreeable character. There were several romance options in the games that i found far less enticing.

Anyway it is not only about the ugliness of the crew members. It is probably also about the ugliness of the main character. The female version in all those videos looks really off. Like making very strange grimaces all the time. That is totally not what i would want to have my self-insert look like. And considering that the default option usually looks better than custom options because they can test all the animations with it...

But i was never in favor of firing peple for opinions, even deprorable opinions. They should have forbidden him from talking to potential customers though.


And if the really took pain to hire developers who are not white males in an industry where most developers are white male that was kind of stupid and it might very well be that quality suffered for it. But so far i have not seen evidence that was the case

And did not buy ME:A, my impression is that the talent left EAWare long ago, and whatever is left of the company is using diversity pandering as a shield to brand any criticisms as racist/sexist/*ist..

But honestly, I think something alot of people keep forgetting is that the combat of a ME(and Bioware in general) game is good(personally loved ME1's combat, wish they'd kept the system with a cover rework), but the meat of the game is in the writing. Story is somewhat poor most of the time, but the best is the interactions you get throughout the game.

Characters are what you keep people coming back for. And when there's something as somewhat crucial to the experience as being able to at least attempt to read someone taken away either because you can't be bothered or you turned on helmets to keep some level of immersion, there's less connection. Which means you're stuck with writing and voice acting, which hasn't been consistent in Mass Effect.

Rather than the lead animator being a cosplayer, I'd focus more on her being 24 and the game being in development for something like 5 years already. Clearly she wasn't working on the game since she was 19 so this tells me that the game was rushed.

Oh and professional model isn't really the same as cosplayer btw.
