Yes, it's your subconscious relaying information to work out different issues you have had with life.

i.e. if your dreaming of strange things happening at work, then it most likely means that you are, to some degree, bored with something at work or are in need of a change in pace.

i think that its a bit of both, some dreams can mean something, some don't
alos i have dreamt the future but its mostly the boring parts of the next day, and its usually only 5 seconds of that day.

No - and I struggle with the idea that your brain turns everything into a huge fucked-up metaphor just to say you're feeling a bit upset.
Well, why?

Dreams are a representation of the subconscious, and if you're agitated, the dreams are likely to come out in an agitated manner. The same holds true if you're calm.

I've had a dream where I've been chased around the desert by Godzilla (me and a few hundred other people) - when someone can give me a reason for that other than my reasoning (where it's just one of those stupid scenarios you make up) then I'll fully accept it.

I get it for simple things - but I don't see why in yourself you'd make stupid connections to things to say how you've been feeling.

Dreams are randoms groups of memories that (if I remember correctly) are spliced together to form a dream that happens during REM in deep sleep. meaning if you only get 6 or less hours of sleep you should not dream. feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I think they mean that my brain is aware and actively indexing all the things that happen to me during the day. Then it just goes crazy and abstract when unconscious and try to bring it all together

No, they pretty much take things you've seen or thought before and mash it up into one crazy ride of funtastic confuzzlement.

They might or they might not. I hear tell that dreams can reveal a lot about someone's psyche.

Personally, I don't put much faith in dreams. Why is it considered normal to fall asleep, hallucinate vividly for several hours, then wake up, possibly with no memory of the ordeal, and go about your day?

Dreams are either random mash-ups of your thoughts throughout the day, or your subconsciousness fucking with your head trying to say something.

I believe that dreams carry at most incidental meaning; that it is not their purpose to be meaningful and they exist to fufill physiological and not psychological purpose.

To me, the only thing dreams to is illustrate what is on your mind in some concious or sub-concious level.

Sometimes. I actually had a dream last night that I was in a bathroom that was enormous and I saw someone that looked like Obama leave a stall so I came up to him and said "Merry Christmas" and he turned around and he had turned from Obama into an old white man with a big beard and he said that he was something to do with the government. Then he opened a door and there was snow everywhere and a helicopter was waiting for him. Then I woke up. Can anyone tell me what that dream means?
