Thinking outside the deformed box [80p] - Create an original game, which is actually good, and not similar to another game in 70% of its playability/story

Achievements are those funny things for the 360 peasants aren't they?

They suck.
You've obviously not played Team Fortress 2, Half Life 2 Episode 2, Portal, or Mass Effect (PC). You uncultured cad you!
I have played them but I ignore the achievements. Especially after I got nothing for setting the whole enemy team on fire.

Didn't see any in Mass Effect though.
There's a bunch, look on the main menu.

I like achievments for some reason... Possibly because I'm that sad that I have to find every little nook and cranny in a game. Hell Halo2 I knew how to get above/below every level, every superbounce location and some of my own too.

"A penny saved is a penny earned" - don't waste half your budget on securom, too many employees, overmarketing, and things that are generally out of your league.

That one is great but it contradicts the whole idea of achievements. Achievements are like psychological crack for "Generation Me" [http://classact.prblogs.org/2007/06/01/10-characteristics-of-generation-me/] people like most gamers and most developers. Our self esteem is propped up with frequent rewards and we are not asked to do anything like take responsibility for something or change anything. Doing something original is like the ultimate impossible thing that you can't blame "me" for not being able to do. Let's motivate those developers, not demotivate them.
