Depends on their attitude about it. If they're screwing up due to inexperience, I'm patient. If they're screwing up due to inexperience while being total asshats, I resent them.
I'm kind of the same way. If I notice that someone is a bit inexperienced online, I'll guide them through the game and hopefully teach them to play as good as I do. The instant they intentionally put a second bullet into me though, the teaching ends and I leave.
Call it rage quit, but I know a future asshole when I meet one online, and someone not appreciating the fact you are protecting them from the flaming of others while teaching them to be competent is just like spitting in my face.

Everyone was a noob at some point.
Words ripped directly from my throat.
A lot of good gamer kind of forget they they were new to a game at one point. What ticks me of the most is just how self centered some of these people think only about "their game" and disregard other people.
The best examples I can think of are on playing Nazi Zombies World at War, particularly on Xbox Live. People get angry when you shoot a zombie in front of them, even while it's about to get them. It gives you the strongest sensation to roll your eyes when you hear a 9 year old scream "stop stealing my kills". Have they just become so self centered that they actually forget what scenario they are in? People aren't calling dibs on kills when you are the last 4 people on earth.
