For future reference, here is an example of manga style artwork:

As Grey said, it's all about those wacky facial expressions...
I wish I could read that, the curiosity is killing me.
The band thing at the bottom is just advertising Attack on Titan. I don't thing that such a scene is actually in the manga. Sorry to disappoint you.

Funny. I have it on reasonable authority that I can look pretty weird if you get me excited enough in... that way
Not that this is an easy thing to accomplish, so don't get your hopes up. :p

On the other hand, I am prone to panic attacks that bear some resemblance to seizures. So... There is that. XD

Still... That... Drawing. Wow. -_-

Well Ahegao was the last word I ever expected to see on The Escapist front page. Good job on managing that.
I bet 2 years worth of semen flowed endlessly out of Grey post-writing this comic. (Muffin for whomever gets the reference besides VanQ)
~shudders~ gahh! No. No! Not that again! Please!? It doesn't even make sense! It... The logic... Stuff. Hurts... My... Brain... >_<

After reading all the comments, I'm not sure I dare googling Ahegao to figure out wtf it is...
Just look at the picture and think about in what situation a person might make a face like that. It's pretty much that.
Erin being over Randy Pitchford, strangling him to death? Tell me she wouldn't enjoy it that much!

OK guys, we get it, you don't like anime, manga, or their fans. This is your way of saying it's a slow day.
Seems like every Critical Miss has at least 1 person who misunderstands the comic. You are today lucky winner.

Anyway as someone who watches much much hentai I am surprised I've never heard the word Ahegao. That'll be my evening sorted out that's for sure.

Aaah hentai. Giving Japanese males sexual dysfunction since 1997.

(Or so I've been told...)
You've been told wrong.............. It's been around much longer than that. Osamu Tezuka made sexy mouse art way back in the 60s after he got big on Astro Boy. And before that it was on woodblock paintings, although those ones were a ***** to animate...
You misunderstand my comment.

Sexy cartoons and sexualizing kiddie cartoons goes all the way back to the 30's (think Betty Boop).

However, the sexual dysfunction and awkwardness plaguing modern Japanese males as an indirect result of this has been fairly recent. Okay...maybe it's not exactly 1997. But it's late 20th/early 21st century.

No, I've been told right. Most of the current sexual problems in modern Japan that have been credited to (or blamed on) hentai start right around the late 90's or early 00's.

"1997" seemed like a good place to split the difference.

Sexy cartoons have been around since man could put pen to paper...or possibly even ink to cave walls.

It's a more popular term in hentai-manga websites that use more tags. Image boards like danbooru as well. Grey keeps sharing in twitter the hentai he reads in fakku, and that also uses these kinds of tags to better list the niches and all.

Thats the one. Given Greys usual history, I was leaning more towards the former before opening this

Actually, a good way to spot an anime fan is to find the guy who's making jokes about all of the obscure references that nobody except an anime fan (or someone that spends a lot of time on 4chan) would know about.

After years of reading this comic, I can tell at least ONE of these guys is a huge weeb. I just can't for the life of me ascertain who....

Eh, who'm I kidding? It's Grey.

That sounds weird. I've generally heard Japan's sexual problems blamed on their crazy work culture, as well as the fact that women in a relationship will usually be passed over for career advancement because it is assumed that at some point they will want to take maternal leave.

Ahegao is the O-face, ahoge is that hair spike thing. "Ahe" is an onomatopoeia for the kind of sounds people make in ecstasy while "gao" is simply "face". "Aho" means "idiot" while "ge" is a hair strand so ahoge can be translated as "idiot hair" which signify a character who might be innocent or not too bright.
